Federal Contractors Now Required To Use Flawed E-Verify Database
Mandatory Employment Eligibility Check Could Lead To Discrimination, Says ACLU
WASHINGTON - September 8 - Starting today, the executive branch will require all federal contractors and subcontractors, including those receiving stimulus funds, to check workers’ employment eligibility with the highly flawed E-Verify database. The administration’s expansion of E-Verify without correcting the defects in the database system will lead to unnecessary harm to U.S. workers and couldlead to discrimination against workers who are perceived to be foreign born.
The
E-Verify system is based on the Homeland Security and Social Security
Administration databases, which have unacceptably high error rates
involving U.S. citizens’ records. Discrepancies between workers' Social
Security numbers and Social Security Administration records can result
from many innocent factors including clerical errors, name changes due
to marriage or divorce or the common use of multiple surnames.
The following can be attributed to Chris Calabrese, ACLU Legislative Counsel:
“In
the middle of the toughest job market in decades, the administration
has chosen to erect another roadblock to gainful employment for U.S.
workers. Mandating all federal contractors to use E-Verify could
encourage contractors to fire workers based on erroneous database
discrepancies and to avoid hiring workers who are perceived to be
foreign born. This flawed Bush-era policy, now adopted by the current
administration, will only hurt the American workforce without improving
our nation’s immigration enforcement practices.”

Show AllFor far too long American lives have been disrupted by higher taxes and lowering salaries because of contradictory policies of each administration on immigration. Standards of living have plummeted because of the selfish, unquenchable thirst for foreign labor taking work of people in the lower classes of job seekers. With the advent of the 1986 Amnesty the millions legalized immigrants working in the fields, evacuated these jobs for higher paying jobs. The working classes of America found themselves undercut in wages by the illegal laborers, who should have been halted at the fences, ports and on expired tourist visas. The only tool that has come to our aid is the Bush innovation E-Verify, a pilot program that has grown in magnitude to identify illegal workers. The US Chamber of Commerce, ACLU have long been the stringed puppets who cater to the wealthy special interest groups and radical foreign caucuses.
No matter it's problems it still has a success rate of 99.6 percent, and its intention is to eradicate working illegal labor from the payrolls of every city, county and state, within the boundaries of this sovereign nation. It's been an upward exhaustive battle against money, influence in our Capitol. Business cartels and their lobbyists have tried to delay, cut, reexamine of just crush E-Verify, since it became painfully obvious it WORKS. It was near extinguished by Sen. Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Once in the public eye it generated it's own limelight even through nearly compromised, but rose to the surface on a wave of public opinion. Certain politicians unable to stifle THE PEOPLE'S angry audience, changed their tune and looked for other immigration enforcement to dismantle.
Under Obama's leadership they will try to rescind 287 G, the regular police training program to question people of their nationality. ICE raids have slowed and other enforcement laws have been corrupted also, like our lawmakers. Now they intend to enact another Amnesty, disguised as Immigration reform. In 1986 immigration law was efficient, but underfunded and full of deceit and fraud. Repair it, amend it, but don't try to cover up the intention of allowing 20 million plus illegal aliens and families a route to citizenship? It's a fight the large majority of Americans don't want. It means even higher taxes to pay for the millions of illegal immigrants without health care. Only import into our country those who wait for eternity for visas and those with high educational, professionals and highly skilled. These legal newcomers will not be a public welfare recipient, as those who break our laws from other lands.
Eject from our country, criminals who are habituating our prisons, Remove the illegal worker from the workplace and the families will leave also. Don't sit and wait, but call your politician 202-224-3121 MORE TRUE INFORMATION AT NUMBERSUSA & JUDICIAL WATCH.
