Use Common Sense: Keep Guns Out Of Town Hall Debates, Away From Presidential Speaking Events
WASHINGTON - August 11 - Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence,
released the following statement on news reports that more people are
bringing loaded handguns to town hall debates over health care, even to
President Obama's town hall in New Hampshire today:
"Let's be clear: it is dangerous to allow the carrying of
loaded handguns to the 'town hall' meetings hosting heated discussions
about health care and other issues around the country. Except for
trained law enforcement, it is unthinkable to allow people with loaded
guns near the President of the United States.
"We should decide contentious public issues with ballots, not bullets.
The 'any gun, any where, any time' mentality of a few must give way to
common sense before innocent people get hurt."

So far, there have been three reported incidents of guns being brought to town halls in the past week:

Show AllNone of these articles allege any threat or illegal activity. Two of the incidents have posted addenda (in other media outlets) that correct early mis-reporting. The guy in Portsmouth wasn't at the town hall meeting, and law enforcement knew of the incident and saw no need to do other than observe.
Seems like the guns aren't the problem.
I have been a gang stalking victim of these fake American Patriots for 3 years.
They are well organized, well financed and nation wide.
Its about time the rest of the country were exposed to these stazi, natzi corporate criminals , and I am glad they are one nation wide TV.
Where have these America first thugs been while Bush/Chenney were crushing the constitution.
Warrantless surviellance under Republican rule os ok, but now these warrant less surviellance right wing Christian torture freak Repulicans are going to be followed and spied on by Democrats they are crying like little babys.
Payback is a bitch. Stop your fake whining, if you wanted your America back, you should have stoped Bush from Data mining, and spying.

And stop talking about debt, you right wingers sat there and watched Bushy take our national debt from 3 trillion to 10 trillion in 7 years , I did not here a complaint from the right wing christian torture freaks, did you.
