Minnesota Rejects Real ID Act Of 2005
23 States Push Back Against Unfunded Mandate To Create National ID
WASHINGTON - May 18 - Minnesota Governor Timothy Pawlenty signed legislation on Saturday that prohibits his administration from turning the state driver's license into a national identity card and from imposing new burdens on taxpayers, citizens, immigrants and state government. The state legislature overwhelmingly endorsed the bill with a unanimous House vote and a 64-1 vote in the Senate. Minnesota becomes the 23rd state to reject the Real ID Act of 2005, raising the question of why Congress has not repealed the law.
"23 states have now sent a clear message to Washington that they will not submit to wrongheaded federal mandates that waste state tax dollars and put privacy at risk," said Christopher Calabrese, Counsel of the ACLU Technology & Liberty Program. "Congress should take notice and repeal the Real ID Act so that effective driver's license security policy can be developed."
As part of creating a national identification card, the Real ID Act of 2005 also mandates that states hold all Americans' private information in a single database that is accessible to federal and state officials - the cost and security of which is unknown. Consequently, the National Governors Association and the National Conference of State Legislatures have expressed strong opposition to the Real ID Act.
Since its enactment - as evident by the rejection of 23 states -- Real ID has faced significant resistance on the state level. During her January confirmation hearing, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano called for a review of Real ID, saying the states were not consulted enough in its creation and that the initiative is a fiscal burden on the states. Before heading up DHS, Napolitano was Governor of Arizona, where she enacted legislation prohibiting her state from complying with the requirements of Real ID.
Because Real IDs require significantly more background information than a driver's license, privacy experts fear that the government will now have access to an unprecedented amount of highly sensitive information about citizens and that there will be an exponential rise in identity theft from the database where the information is stored.

Show AllThis is great. REAL ID will not work if a significant number of states refuse to comply.
"...privacy experts fear that the government will now have access to an unprecedented amount of highly sensitive information about citizens and that there will be an exponential rise in identity theft from the database where the information is stored."
Yeah, like that was my biggest concern!
Real ID is just another brick in the wall to implement total control by the system.
Just imagine for a moment Hitler would have had the surveillance mechanisms, the Patriot Act and the political control apparatus the last few US governments have created.
Then have a good long hard look at what is happening with the structure our forefathers have gifted to our people. Remember the great American Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The machine is geared up to make any decent change impossible. Democracy has been hijacked. The American people have been cheated and usurped.
Read ‘Collateral Damage’ part I & II and start wailing:

Many people who accept God's existence and read their Bible's passages regarding prophetic events and End of The Age Scenarios (myself included in this group) are not surprised by Real ID and government intrusion into privacy. Read Public Law 93-579, read the Social Security Act and look at a Social Security card created before about 1963: "FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND TAX PURPOSES - NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" was printed thereon yet Real ID requires automobile driver license applicants to provide their Social Security Account numbers, which will be used for non-Social Security Administration Identification.
Reference to Hitler is right-on: Hitler established laws that many oldsters refused to roll over and play dead to accept. Hitler adopted a step function enactment plan. People aged 0-30 had to comply be certain date, 31-40 had to comply before date in future (maybe a few years future), 41-50 had to comply before later future date (maybe a few years +1 or 2 future), 51-60 had to comply before later future date (maybe a few years +3 or 4 later) ... United States Congress and Real ID enactment plans follow the same scenario.
In book of Revelation in the Bible we are told nobody will be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast or number of his name. Try doing business without giving you Social Security Account number. You will find it nearly impossible. Try quoting various United States Federal and various State laws and you will soon find that Governments are the biggest violators of PL 93-579 and other laws.
Nearly all pieces for Biblical Prophecy fulfillment are in place today. Lack of individual privacy and individual self reliance has United States (and world) society ready to give its rights and freedoms away in the name of "Security" so Big Brother Government can take care of everything. The United States is a Republic which has been hijacked. Although the United States has many things which help it act as a Democracy we are not (and have never been) a Democracy. The so called Patriot Act is among the most unpatriotic pieces of legislation this man has read. I agree: "The American people have been cheated and usurped." Our rights and privileges in a free society have been diluted.
You got it! And between this and DNA samples that they're getting from people for any reason and no reason at all, plus the number of people being arrested and now these computerized medical records Obama is talking about (which I don't even know what the hell it is but know it's not good), before we even know it, we're all gonna be fully catalogued just like in the X Files. Scary stuff!
