Peace Groups to Target "Army Experience Center" in Philadelphia

Hundreds to descend on suburban shopping mall on Saturday, May 2nd to decry Army pilot program that entices teens with violent video games

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - April 30 - Organizers of the May 2nd demonstration at the Franklin Mills Mall in northeast Philadelphia are calling on protesters to congregate at 1:00 pm on the parking lot of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 11080 Knights Rd in Philadelphia, less than a mile from the mall.  Demonstrators from a coalition of 35 national and regional peace groups, including the Student Peace Action Network and the American Friends Service Committee's Youth & Militarism Program, will march along Knights Road to the mall’s entrance in an attempt to serve a criminal complaint on the Army Experience Center, and the mall's parent company, The Simon Property Group, Inc

The Pentagon is committed to establishing Experience Centers in malls across the country. The $13 Million, 14,500 square foot facility at Franklin Mills Mall boasts dozens of PC's and X-Boxes with various interactive, military-style shooting games as well as Apache helicopter and Humvee simulators that allow teens to simulate the killing of Arabs and Afghans, or "Haji's" and "Ragheads" as local youth refer to "the enemy." One Philadelphia columnist has referred to the center as a "heavy dose of candy cigarettes."

They're teaching 13 year-olds to kill. Demonstrators from DC to New York are committed to stopping this sinister practice.
