Hundreds of Healthcare Activists to Rally in Los Angeles Outside White House Forum on Healthcare, April 6
Healthcare Grassroots Wants a Place at the Table for Single-Payer/Universal Healthcare Reforms
WASHINGTON - April 3 -
WHAT: Hundreds of nurses, physicians, school
employees, clergy, seniors, patients, and healthcare activists
will rally on Monday outside the Los Angeles White House Forum
on Healthcare Reform to strongly urge a real debate over
single-payer/universal healthcare and any proposed bailouts of
private health insurance corporations.
The
activists will gather around a giant table to symbolize the
rightful "place at the table" for the kind of Medicare-for-All
or single-payer/universal healthcare reforms that would provide
every American with the national, non-profit, comprehensive
health coverage we need. Rally participants will send the
message on postcards to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
WHO: A
broad coalition of healthcare reformers brought together by the
Leadership Conference on Guaranteed Healthcare, California
Nurses Association (CNA), California School Employees
Association (CSEA), Physicians for a National Health Program
(PNHP), Healthcare Now, and Progressive Democrats of America
(PDA).
WHEN: Monday, April 6th -
Rally @ 8:30 a.m., Program @ 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: The California Endowment, 1000 Alameda, Los Angeles
WHY: "Nurses and patients demand a place at
the table for guaranteed healthcare systems on the single-payer
model, because we know that only this reform will nurse our
healthcare system back to health," said Geri Jenkins, RN,
Co-President of CNA. "On the other hand, forcing people to buy
private insurance products, or taxing their healthcare benefits,
the kind of ideas offered by Arnold Schwarzenegger and John
McCain last year, would amount to a massive bailout of the
health insurance corporations, which we can't afford and they
don't deserve."
"The president clearly recognizes
that now is the time for bold solutions to our most serious
problems, including healthcare. We are urging him to allow
single-payer/universal to be a part of the debate, because we
believe it is the best way we can provide comprehensive
healthcare to the American people at a reasonable cost," said
CSEA President Rob Feckner.
"A single-payer system is the best and most equitable means to provide all people with the healthcare they need, while exercising good stewardship of our resources," said Rev. Rick Schlosser, Executive Director of the California Council of Churches.

Show AllI'll say it again--that if we had a Universal health care, run like France or Britain, our auto industry would never be under this financial pressure. No wonder our car manufacturers are in steep competition with foreign companies, because outside of the United States auto makers are subsidized. Not only does GMC, Ford and others have to add health care benefits to every vehicle off the conveyor belt, but they have likely millions of retirees who are still collecting health care services. Its a dream, but think of it? no intermediates like cold-hearted insurance companies. Run by a bunch of bean counters. I have first hand knowledge of their relentless activity, to use any gray-area possible to undercut services to you or a loved one. Serve you with all kinds of paperwork, to deceive you. Look for pre-existing conditions, charge you exorbitant premiums and co-pays.
Wouldn't be great to have a single payer system, where you pay your share to the government and your employer. Then you collect decent services such as doctor visits, specialty physician's, eye and dental care. Just like Europe, without the skulduggery of debt collectors, medical billing companies, civil courts or bankruptcy. I never, ever had to show any ID, to go and see a doctor. No receptionist was ready to photocopy your social security number, drivers license and insurance card? It's criminal thats it's a privilege in our nation--not a necessity abroad. Whereas it's the wealthy who don't appreciate Universal health care, because they have no intention in waiting a month or so. Yet while uninsured Americans have to jump through hoops for health care, illegal aliens who have stolen into our nation pay--NOTHING--for emergency services. Colds, flue, hang nail--they go to hospital and get it all for free. Well! that's not quite true? You! The taxpayer are their wealthy uncle. That's thanks to Sen.Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and other Senators, who think 40 million illegal aliens is great for America. Thats why they killed E-Verify in the Stimulus/Omnibus packages.
If every member of the legal population of the United States has access to Universal health care. It will give Manufacturers of cars, and many other businesses equal footing, with foreign competitors who are subsidized by its governments. This is as long as the anti-sovereignty, open border politicians, don't extort taxpayers wages to pay for illegal aliens health services. Health care can build our economy and bring America back from the doldrums. This will be a hard sell to hundreds of greedy insurance companies, hospitals, doctors and specialists who enjoy their Bentleys, summer homes and fat bank accounts.
American cannot--will not allow any form of Amnesty! A new legal resident already here, could sponsor their large families, which again you will pay through your taxes to settle them. Without ever paying into the IRS, waves of impoverished senile, handicapped and thousands with mental disorders can be sponsored by their families. You will be crucified in property taxes as never before. Since the downturn in our economy States are searching for new revenue, to pay for the health care, low income housing, education and a batch of benefits. Sanctuary cities have millions of illegal aliens who have learned to tap the reservoir of government handouts, with fraudulent documents. As a good start to halting this dilemma, we must insist--NO DEMAND--resurgence of E-Verify. as a permanent amendment-- to our immigration laws. We must stop ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION before it swallows up our economy and turns our nation into a third world embarrassment.Start taking back your country by checking the facts--NOT LIES NUMBERSUSA, JUDICIALWATCH, CAPSWEB.
