Democracy Corps Poll: Americans See Limbaugh as a Top Leader of GOP; Doesn't Share Their Values

WASHINGTON - March 11 - Media Matters for America today released the following statement in response to a new poll by Democracy Corps which analyzed "Republican Leadership and Rush Limbaugh."

"The results of this poll confirm what our work over the past five years has demonstrated: that Rush Limbaugh is out of the mainstream and that Americans do not share his extremist values," said Eric Burns, president of Media Matters. "All Americans have a right to know and should be concerned that a right-wing media figure is pulling the strings of the Republican Party and their elected officials."

Media Matters has documented hundreds of examples of how Limbaugh is out of touch with the majority of the country. We recently launched the Limbaugh Wire, a resource center of our latest research on the top-rated radio talk show host.
