Wexler and Ellison to Discuss Restoring and Maintaining Our Constitutional Rights

DENVER - August 27 - Progressive Democrats of America and The Nation will host Congressmen Robert Wexler (D-FL) and Keith Ellison (D-MN) in a panel discussion entitled Restoring and Maintaining our Constitutional Rights, Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. The panels will take place at Progressive Central located at the Central Presbyterian Church, 1660 Sherman St. in Denver.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., Jamin Raskin, Maryland State Senator, Constitutional Law Professor at American University; Steve Cobble, Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies and PDA Advisory board member; Leslie Cagan, National Coordinator United for Peace and Justice; will join Ellison in a second panel discussion, Constitutional Law and Congress. John Nichols, Washington correspondent for The Nation Magazine will moderate both panels.

Vince Bugliosi, former prosecutor and author of The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, will appear from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Bugliosi will lay out the grounds for the impeachment and criminal prosecution of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney.

Progressive Central coalition members, Code Pink and the National Impeachment Network, invite you to attend a media briefing before the panels from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the parlor room of the church.

Press conference topics will include impeachment, prosecutions, and the possibility of pre-emptive pardons by Bush.

Speakers and panelists will be available for interviews.
