Experts Will Discuss Treatment Of Migrants In The U.S.

GENEVA - March 6 - The American Civil Liberties Union and U.S. Human Rights Network will host a panel discussion Friday featuring United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants Jorge Bustamante to discuss the treatment of migrants in the United States. The panel coincides with the release of Bustamante’s report reflecting his fact-finding trip to the U.S. last year.
The panelists will discuss the effects of the dramatic expansion of migrant and immigrant detention, the increase in the number of raids and anti-immigrant laws and policies, and the construction of the wall on the Mexican border and its consequences on migrant communities.
