Citizen Protest of the Proposed New Bedford/ Fall River Rail Line Through the Hockomock Swamp
 

WASHINGTON - February 22 -

What: Grassroots protest of the proposed New Bedford/Fall River rail line. The proposed rail line will cost Massachusetts taxpayers $1 billion dollars (a cost of $338,638 per rider) to construct. The proposed rail line is fiscally irresponsible and environmentally unacceptable.

Who: Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray and Secretary of Transportation Bernard Cohen will be touring the proposed train stations along the New Bedford/Fall River rail line.

When: Friday, February 23, 2007 at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Shovel Shop Square, corner of Main and Oliver Streets, North Easton, MA
