Census Bureau to Release New Numbers about Uninsured Americans Kathleen Stoll, Director of Health Policy Available for Analysis

WASHINGTON - August 25 - Early next week the U.S. Census Bureau is expected to release its findings about how many Americans were uninsured in 2005. Families USA, a leader in efforts to expand health coverage to the uninsured, will have the following expert available to comment and offer analysis on the new data: Kathleen Stoll, Director of Health Policy. While the data are not yet available, several factors suggest that the number of uninsured has increased: health care costs are rising; employers are passing on more health care costs to their workers; and state budget problems have resulted in cuts in Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
