Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary Launches Final National Petition Drive to Save Filibuster & Nationwide Citizen Filibusters
More than 200,000 Have Signed a Petition to Oppose Senate Republicans’ Abuse of Power in Last 24 Hours
 

WASHINGTON -- May 23 -- With Republicans poised to trigger the “nuclear option,” a gross abuse of power that will break more than 200-year old Senate rules by eliminating Senators’ right to filibuster, Americans are taking a stand. Supporters will rally together in the Senate Swamp on Monday, May 23rd at 4:30 PM to kick off the final national push to stop the nuclear option. Following the rally, supporters will make a round of petition deliveries to key Senate offices.

The rally will announce a nation-wide petition drive. Petitions – thousands of them – will then be hand-delivered to key Senate offices every three hours. Close to 100 citizen-organized filibuster-a-thons to take place across the country on Tuesday also to be announced.
