NEW YORK, NY -- October 27 -- The Not In Our Name project calls for a night of resistance and community on November 2, 2004, 5pm 10pm, Union Square in New York City. As even the most mainstream newspapers like USA Today report of voter registration forms being tossed out by republicans, and stories circulate of voter fraud and intimidation tactics, anti-war activists refuse to allow a break in protesting. Not In Our Name, Students for Justice in Palestine NYU, New York City Labor Against War, Cabbies Against Bush, Long Island Alliance for Peaceful Alternatives, Blue Triangle Network NYC, Rev. Bryan Hooper Washington Square United Methodist Church, GLAMericans For Peace and others are planning for a night of murals, interactive art, politcs, spoken word, music and community. Spoken word artist, Koba, (from Kontrast) will be performing, along with Nicholas Powers, Billy Lamont and others.
