Born in Des Moines in 1950, Greg Thielmann is a 25-year veteran of the US foreign service who was in charge of the State Departments intelligence office before the Iraq war. He advised Secretary of State Colin Powell on the Iraqi threat until he retired in September 2002. And now he is advising the American publicthat Iraq was not an imminent threat to America, and that the world is less safe today than before the war. Featured on 60 Minutes, Thielmann will go farther than the Senate Intelligence Committee findings or the 9/11 Commission report in explaining the Iraq intelligence debacle.
