In her just released book, Fanatics & Fools, Arianna Huffington offers an unabashed look at America's messy circumstances today and her vision of where the nation needs to head in the future. In her take-no-prisoners book, Huffington examines both "fanatics" in the Bush White House as well as "fools" in the Democratic opposition. She provocatively sketches the corruption and dysfunction embedded in America's contemporary political landscape while laying out her game plan for winning back American democracy.

Arianna Huffington has emerged as one of the nation's leading political commentators and participants, after having just run in the recent California gubernatorial election. She has been challenging the problem of structural corruption in American politics for some time.

Ms. Huffington's talk is the first in a series of lectures hosted by the Institute for Policy Studies entitled, Defining The Issues. Twice a month respected political analysts will explore the issues facing the nation in this election year. The next event is Wednesday, May 19th.
