WASHINGTON - February 13 - Leaders of the Million Mom March, the nation's leading national chapter-based gun violence prevention group, will hold a press conference on Monday, Feb. 16 -- President's Day -- on the West Side of Manhattan in New York City to make an announcement regarding Mother's Day weekend of 2004.

On Mother's Day 2000, the fledgling organization sponsored a march on Washington D.C. at which hundreds of thousands of "mothers and others" demanded that Congress pass sensible laws to protect American children from relentless gun violence.

Monday's press conference will be held outside Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, where two students were wounded by gunfire on Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday in January 2002.
