WASHINGTON - February 5 - MoveOn.org and the national coalition Win Without War will hold a news conference next Tuesday at the National Press Club to unveil a national campaign calling on Congress to censure President George W. Bush for misleading the American people in the lead-up to the war in Iraq. WHO: Adam Ruben, Field Director, MoveOn.org; Former Congressman Tom Andrews, National Director, Win Without War; Mel Goodman, former Senior Analyst, CIA and Professor of International Security at the National War College; Larry Johnson, Former Deputy Director, US State Dept. Office of Counter Terrorism; and others. WHAT: Unveiling of details of a national campaign to demand that Congress pass a motion of censure of the President for deliberately misrepresenting the truth about intelligence concerning weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and links between Al Qaeda and the government of Saddam Hussein. WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 10 at noon WHERE: National Press Club, 529 14th Street, Lisagor Room MoveOn.org is an internet grassroots issues organizing project with nearly 2 million members throughout the United States. It was created in 1998 during the campaign to impeach then-President Bill Clinton, after public opinion surveys showed that most Americans opposed impeachment, instead wanting Congress to "censure and move on" to other important national business. Win Without War is a coalition of national organizations representing broad constituencies that aim to keep America safe by advocating that international cooperation and enforceable international law provide the greatest security for the United States and the world. The coalition offers a mainstream, patriotic voice for engaging opinion makers, activating concerned citizens, and communicating to the media. ###
