- October 28 - MoveOn.org Voter Fund will hold a news conference on Wednesday to unveil a nationwide contest to find and run the best TV ad to expose the truth about George W. Bush and his failed policies.
MoveOn.orgs 1.7 million members and others will be asked to create and submit ads to be posted on the internet. Members will rate each ad, with a panel of celebrity judges and political experts selecting the winner from among finalists. The winning ad will air during the week of the Presidents State of the Union address early next year.
The celebrity panel will include film star Jack Black; music artist Moby; actress and comedienne Janeane Garofalo; author Michael Moore; Michael Stipe, lead singer for the band REM; and filmmaker/author Gus Van Sant.
The ad will be part of a series of truth-telling ads that document Bushs failures that will run in selected states over the next six months. MoveOn.org Voter Fund is a 527 political entity affiliated with MoveOn.org, the nations largest online grassroots advocacy organization.
