| NEW YORK
- October 14 - Ben Cohen, who brings whimsy to even the fiercest political debates, hits New York Wednesday, October 15, towing a giant statue of President Bush, with his presidential pants flaming.
Millions of Americans believe that Bush has lied about really important things, but few can bring themselves to use the L word. So here it is, with a smile, says Ben Cohen, who now heads TrueMajorityACTION, the online advocacy organization.
The 12-foot statue of Bush, which rides on a flatbed towed by a Crown Victoria, is equipped with artificial flames that shoot out from the Presidents trousers.
Ben is personally driving the Bush effigy to New York from his home in Vermont. He will arrive in Manhattan Wed., October 15 and will be available for interviews with the Bush statue at Broadway and Wall Street at 6 p.m. or through contacts below.
TrueMajorityACTION members will drive the protest vehicle around the New York area from Oct. 15 till Nov. 7 when it will head out on a cross-country tour, spreading the word that Bush is lying to the American people, not only about Iraq, but about the economy, education, health care, and more.
Bush is a serial liar, says Cohen. And our country is paying the price in Iraq, in our schools and hospitals, everywhere you look. Im simply illustrating the truth about our President.
TrueMajority.org is a free e-service that monitors Congress on issues of justice, compassion, and sustainability. Twice a month, at critical moments, TrueMajoritys 320,000 members receive a short e-mail alert about an important issue pending in Washington. TrueMajorityACTION is the legal entity that can engage in education, lobbying and electoral activities and is producing the PantsOnFire project. Ben Cohen is undertaking this project on behalf of TrueMajorityAction and not on behalf of Ben & Jerry's, which is not associated with the TrueMajorityAction campaign.
