| WASHINGTON - October 23 - "Tomorrow the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on an economic stimulus plan that will succeed mostly in lining the pockets of corporations, bypassing the people who need it most," said National Organization for Women (NOW) President Kim Gandy. "As the U.S. copes with the fallout from the September 11 attacks and the worsening recession, we need a stimulus plan that truly supports low-wage earners -- the majority of whom are women -- and those who are suffering most in our current economy. Anything less will be a recipe for disaster."
Gandy will speak at a news conference with other national leaders to demand that Congress ensure that any stimulus plan includes those at the bottom of the economic ladder.
