"Today, the Sierra Club applauds John Kerry for highlighting a critical need for the United States - the need to decrease our dependence on foreign oil. John Kerry knows that one of the first steps we need to take is to make our cars go farther on a gallon of gas. Putting our nation on this path will save money for consumers, curb pollution, create high-wage, high-skilled domestic jobs, and improve our national security.
