WASHINGTON - June 23 - The Barcelona Forum US announced today that the Dialogues of the Barcelona Forum will be broadcast daily via the web at www.barcelona2004us.org. Featuring important discussions and debates by some of the world's pre-eminent thinkers, experts in their field, and concerned citizens from around the world, the Dialogues seek to address many of the most pressing concerns of our modern society. The idea is to turn words into action!

Some of the critical Dialogue topics and conferences include:

  • Environmental Issues
  • Economic Sustainability" Green Building and Eco Tourism
  • International Justice
  • Towards a World Without Violence
  • The Social Brain-Biology of Conflicts and Cooperation
  • Individual and Human Rights
  • Freedom, Peace and Security
  • Globalization-Free Trade or Fair Trade
  • The Role of Corporations in the 21st Century
  • The Ethical Wealth of Nations
  • The Women's World Forum
  • The 3rd Annual World Youth Festival
  • The World Volunteer Conference
  • The Parliament of the World's Religions
  • Cultural Rights and Human Development
  • The World Urban Forum

"Thanks to the power of the Web, and the flexibility of the Forum in Barcelona, people from across North American can watch the Dialogues and actively participate in the Forum even if they can't travel to Barcelona," said David Rippe, executive director of the Barcelona Forum US. "Now everyone can let their voice be heard. From our web site anyone can email a question to the Dialogue and have it read and discussed as if you were sitting in the front row."

The Barcelona Forum US team worked diligently with the Forum in Barcelona to allow access and English translation of the Dialogues so that anyone who chooses can engage in one of the most important events of our time. David Rippe stated, "This is an incredible opportunity to connect with others for real change. The Web, like ideas, is not bound by the limitation of geography. Now we can join together to magnify our individual contributions."

The US-based web site offers the ability to interact with like-minded people around the globe via online discussion groups-and now, the daily webcasts. "It's one more way we're trying to build a movement of individuals whose collective voice moves the world," Rippe said.

The Forum is designed to create real-world actionable solutions. This is your chance for your voice to be heard. All are invited to join the discussion. We all have a stake in our society and the fate of future generations.
