WASHINGTON - April 27 - Moms to hold event in Washington DC on Mother's Day to urge renewal, 138 days until assault weapons ban expires Tomorrow's press conference concludes a nationwide effort to urge support for a Mother's Day event in Washington and raise awareness about the expiration of the assault weapons ban. Over the last few weeks throughout the country, Million Mom Marchers, police chiefs and mayors have held over 40 press conferences. On May 9th, mothers and others from around the country will converge in Washington to urge the President and Congress to renew the ban.
