Anti-War Israelis March in Tel Aviv: 'Don't Attack Iran'
On Saturday, Israelis against a military strike on Iran marched in Tel Aviv to tell their government, and the world, that a majority of Israeli citizens do no want military action. They held signs with such captions as "No to War with Iran," and "Talks, not Bombs," as well as “No to pre-emptive suicide.”

(Photo by: Hadar Cohen) The protest follows, though was not endorsed by, an increasingly popular Facebook campaign initiated by an Israeli family, Israeli and Iranian citizens are expressing mutual respect and a hope for peace between the two countries. Recent polls suggest that some 58 per cent of Israeli citizens are against any military strike, RT’s Paula Slier reported from Tel Aviv.

The Jerusalem Post reports:
In the first significant antiwar- with-Iran protest held in Israel, around 1,000 people marched through central Tel Aviv on Saturday evening to voice opposition to those calling for a military strike to stop the Islamic Republic’s quest for nuclear weapons.
“We will not agree to an irresponsible Israeli attack on Iran, leading to a war with an unknown end-date and casualty count,” organizers said on the protest’s Facebook page, under the title “Israelis Against the War.”
“The billions that this war will cost will be paid by us – in health, education, housing – and in blood.”

The protest came amid a recent Facebook campaign linking Israeli and Iranian citizens in their opposition to war between the two nations. Campaign leaders, however, made it clear on their Facebook page that they had nothing to do with the Tel Aviv protest march.
Last week, graphic designers Ronny Edry and his wife, Michal Tamir, unknowingly began a Facebook phenomenon when they uploaded a poster depicting Edry and his daughter with the words, "Iranians, we will never bomb your country, we [heart] you."
That one image sparked a movement of sorts, with hundreds, if not thousands, of images sent from Israel, Iran, and elsewhere in the world, in support of exposing what participants consider to be the human side of the conflict between Iran and Israel.

1. the Israeli Lobby pushes a policy that is obviously belligerent, and not in the interests of the US masses.
2. the US gives Israel billions annually while destroying the lives of themasses with Austerity
3. Fanatical pro-zionists seem to be att the center of the 9/11 attacks, the banking crisis and the US wars in the middle east. they do not bear sole responsibility, but they bear an oversized share ogf guilt in all of these
So your accusations of anti-semitism are FALSE and are the product of the fact that defense of Israel is morally indefensible; so the only thing you have left is to slur critics of zionism.
You are the bigot here. Anti-semitism as a term for jew hate is itself a bigoted term, and genocidal rhetoric that excludes all millions of arabs who are also semites.
It is my opinion that zionists hide behind the anti-semitic mantra because they know full well that their position is indefensible without torturing the facts to the point of absurdity.
As soon as someone plays the anti-semitism card, my immediate thought is COWARD.
What this article shows is that Israel, like the US, has people who want to do the right thing, but they aren't the people in charge.
In 1948, Israelis burned whole Palestinian villages - and massacred everyone in some of these villages, and waved their Israeli flags and guns while doing it.
Give us an example of "Jew-hate" on this website. No, make it two.
How about what Israel's army did to the aid ships that tried to land with aid for the Palestinian people, whose seashore it is? Stealing the passengers things, killing people in cold blood, smashing Palestinians'houses and hospitals, killing their people, shall we jump for joy at the least spark of humanity?
Everyone is happy to see these people-to-people communications and the anti-war demonstration, of course, but we have no idea if it will have any real effect on the Extreme Right-Wing, Orthodox, war-mongering (with our money) Israeli government.
Hopeful and optimistic, I am, but still, wait and see...........
Iran has no quarrel with the people living in Israel, only its government. Hezbollah is a very popular organization in Lebanon, liked and respected by even the Christians. Hamas is likewise, a very popular organization in Palestine, supported by a majority of Palestinians in their last legitimate election, for which they were brutally punished for their democratic expression by an Israel-organized Fatah coup, then by a brutal bombing campaign when the coup was unsuccessful in Gaza. Fatah was rewarded with continued settlement building and ethnic cleansing of their land, and so has since reunited with Hamas.
By the way, Hamas itself was originally formed as part of an Israeli plot to break up the secular PFLP, which was their bogeyman back then.
You zionists are really so insecure aren't you. Oh you have to recognize us as a JEWISH state... why? Why do we have to do that? Why can't we recognize Israel as a "democratic state" or a "modern state" or just another state in the world? Oh I know, it's because the state is ILLEGITIMATE to begin with.
And Hamas and Hezbollah are attacking poor poor little defenseless Israel.. Give me a break. Israel regularly commits acts of aggression against the Arab. Hamas is a resistance organization to resist ongoing Israeli occupation. Hezbollah is a resistance organization to resist and defend against Israeli occupation of Lebanon. RESISTANCE against an occupying power is not terrorism, nor is it illegal.
Anyways, I don't know why I'm wasting my time engaging a zionist piece of shit...
"From 27 December 2008 to 18 January 2009, the Israeli military carried out an offensive dubbed Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip. The resulting damage to the civilian population in Gaza was colossal: Israeli security forces killed 1,391 Palestinians, at least 759 of whom (including 318 minors under age 18) were civilians who had not been taking part in the hostilities. More than 5,300 Palestinians were injured, at least 350 of them seriously. The operation also caused extensive damage to homes, industrial plants and the agricultural sector, in addition to the electricity, sanitation, water, and health infrastructure that had already been on the brink of collapse due to Israel's siege on Gaza. According to UN estimates, the military destroyed more than 3,500 homes, leaving some 20,000 persons homeless."

Where as, zionists do want to see Iran wiped off the map... How could one ever think otherwise considering all the threats of war Israel makes on a daily basis.
In fact, Zionists want to see many nations destroyed so they can have their "Greater Israel" from the Nile to the Euphrates.
You do have your work cut out for you, Mr. Zionist piece o crap. It must be trying and soul sapping to repeat the same tired old lies over and over again. It must be psyche damaging to be on the wrong side of morality, pushing an agenda of hatred and racism. In fact, the most anti-semitic people on earth are zionists. Ironic isn't it.
For those who are reserved themselves THE POLITICS OF EXCEPTIONALISM the RIGHT of "right or wrong I'm with my country" such a stand is nothing short of selective memory in time & space, with its backers this is what the 1% does best in Israel, short of CULTURAL LOBOTOMY, its plain coward, not to mention a betrayal of those very memories of indifference and horror.
After decades of injustice & struggle it appears that in order to bring justice to the Palestinian PEOPLE the whole system must be brought to account.
All is connected
Good. But no reason to hope for sanity in Israel. - They're to f***in' far gone. And too well paid by US to keep going: at least $ 7 million every bloody day - and bloody they are, when Israel gets its ways.
Let's not read too much into the protest.
Well put.
its about the 99.
No to state terror or torture just truth.
