London As It Is, Britain As It Should Be
"This is London", says Khan, in center.
Lest we forget, amidst the post-Brexit chaos and hate crimes there is this: Protests, flashmobs, a slew of media campaigns both before and after, wildly popular petitions to revote, widespread calls for unity and assertions of our common humanity, dueling Winnie the Pooh memes to make sense of it all, the fervent condemnation of rising xenophobia by Shadow Home Secretary Andy Burnham insisting that, "This isn’t taking our country back - this is turning Britain into a place we have never, ever been," and this fabulous selfie of London Mayor Sadiq Khan breaking Ramadan fast at Finchley Reform Synagogue with Christian, Jewish, Sikh and other faith leaders, along with assorted young people, all insisting that, Yes, we can live like this. From a steadfast Khan: "This is London."
