Unbelievably Small and Weird: Kerry Says Relax, It's Just A Teeny Tiny Little War and Maybe We Won't Have to Make It. State Dept, Syria and Everyone Else Say Huh?
In an alarming act of synchronicity, American foreign policy seems to have descended into the same incoherent chaos as Syria's civil war. In the space of 24 hours, John Kerry proclaimed the world is facing “our Munich moment,” said actually it's not a big deal and the U.S. will just make "an unbelievably small" war, unless Assad wants to turn over the chemical weapons he may or may not have used, except U.S. officials say he was just being "rhetorical" about guys "with a history of playing fast and loose with the facts (who) cannot be trusted," a phenomenon we are familar with. WTF? Dithering into war much?
"We will be able to hold Bashar al-Assad accountable without engaging in troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort in a very limited, very targeted, short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria's civil war. That is exactly what we are talking about doing – unbelievably small, limited kind of effort."
