We Are Not For Sale: Health Care, Not Cookies
An Infuriating Work of Staggering Condescension: Having gone back on his word not to obliterate their right to health care with a package of extreme anti-abortion measures he then up and signed, North Carolina's GOP Gov. Pat McCrory wanted to make nicey-nice with protesters at his mansion, so on Tuesday he went out there and brought them.....cookies. They were not well-received. Meanwhile, as the legislative session ends after three months of protests and over 900 arrests, the growing cadre of Moral Monday protesters are taking their grievances on the road to all the state's congressional districts, with the NAACP and other leaders vowing to "go to the next level" with local rallies, voter registration drives and legal challenges to stop GOP legislation. The newly formed North Carolina Music Love Army - having performed their first show, almost finished their first CD of original protest songs, and targeted all earnings to the NAACP legal defense fund - will sing them on their way.
"We are outraged. We fight with songs. We win with your ears and with your help."
