The news of the world is bleak, but you could live in Mississippi. Citing an  ever-dubious "consumers' freedom of choice," the most obese state in the nation has passed an anti-Bloomberg law that forbids banning the Big Gulp or putting any other regulations on food and drink portions. Thus, the state with the country's highest obesity rate (almost one in three people) and lowest income, which earlier this month passed a Student Religious Liberties Act allowing kids to pray in school (presumably to survive their obesity); last month and 148 years late just remembered to abolish slavery; in 1984 and 64 years late got around to giving women the vote; and in 2011 had almost half its Republicans say inter-racial marriage should be against the law - the leaders of that state, with its clear sense of priority, say what really matters to them is their Big Gulp, which you'll have to pry out of their cold, dead, admittedly somewhat chubby hand. We love states' rights.
