Frankenstorm and the Zomney Apocalypse

by Abby Zimet

With Hurricane Sandy hitting the East coast, Romney is fast etch-a-sketching his earlier comments about federal disaster relief spending, which he called  “immoral,” arguing it should be sent back to the states or, even better, the private sector - aka corporate “disaster vultures.” In the timely context of Sandy, many are blasting his stance and a Twitter parody account is offering vital Romney Storm Tips. As in, "Everyone in the path of the hurricane should head to their second or third home to safety," "Make sure all your binders of women are up high from flood waters," "47% of these hurricane victims think they're entitled to food, water, dry blankets, you name it," "Make sure you use your car elevators to get your dancing horses to higher ground." Romney has also been "endorsed" by sci-fi whiz Joss Whedon, who says we must ask, ‘Am I ready… for the purity and courage of Mitt Romney’s apocalyptic vision?’

"Romney is ready to make the deep rollbacks in healthcare, education, social services, reproductive rights that will guarantee poverty, unemployment, overpopulation, disease, rioting - all crucial elements in creating a nightmare zombie wasteland. But it's his commitment to unregulated corporate privilege that will nosedive this economy into true insolvency and chaos.

"Mitt's not afraid to face a ravening grasping hoard of subhumans - because that's how he sees poor people already...Let’s all embrace the future, stop pretending we care about each other and start hoarding canned goods."
