Ryan Fake-Washes Pan at Empty Soup Kitchen and Fake-Talks to the Poors to Show He Cares and Get His Picture Taken to Prove It

by Abby Zimet

Vice-presidential do-gooder Paul Ryan stopped by an Ohio soup kitchen this weekend - after all the scruffy poor people had gone and the hard-working volunteers had cleaned up - to have his picture taken in a way shiny clean apron washing some already-washed dishes to "emphasize the importance of charities and volunteerism to civil society.” Leaving after his hard labor, he stopped to talk to a few men who "appeared to be homeless" and who apparently hadn't gotten the memo to disappear by then. The cameras kept rolling, but obviously reporters were barred from listening because then they might have actually heard or learned something. Still, we bet Ryan was telling them about Ayn Rand and society's takers and moochers and how he wants to cut funds to Medicaid and homeless vets. What a prince.

Whoah Update: The head of the charity is blasting Ryan's photo-op - "He did nothing" - and the campaign for "ramrodding" their way into the soup kitchen.
