Beware this corn season. Amidst record low yields from drought, a new crop of “superweeds,” and the release by biotech giant Monsanto of yet more genetically modified, misleadingly labelled varieties, the EPA is launching a review of Monsanto's practices based on "mounting evidence" from studies in Midwestern corn fields that rootworm - the so-called "billion-dollar pest" - are developing a resistance to their insecticides. Monsanto, meanwhile, continues to fight against any regulation. Man, when will they learn you don't mess with Mother Nature? Fight them back here.
