Chick-fil-A: It's Not Easy Being Homophobic

Given their long history of supporting non-traditional marriage - see Kermit and Miss Piggy, or Bert and Ernie despite their "single" beds - it's not surprising the Muppets have dumped their partnership with Chick-fil-A after the head of the fast-food chain doubled down on his homophobia, declaring himself "guilty as charged" in supporting the "biblical definition of the family unit" and giving millions of dollars to anti-gay groups to make his point. The Muppets have announced they'll give their proceeds to GLAAD, one of several low blows for Chick-fil-A: Boston has told them to take their waffle fries elsewhere, many have said they will boycott the chain, and a lot of those uppity gays who think they have the same rights as everyone else say they plan to go hang out there to create a Chick-fil-Gay - and maybe even kiss. Still, Mike Huckabee loves 'em: He has declared Aug. 1 “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” and praised their founders as “a wonderful Christian family who are committed to operating the company with Biblical principles and whose story is the true American success story.”

.e Huckabee. On his Facebook page this weekend, the former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate wrote that he has “been incensed at the vitriolic assaults on the Chick-fil-A company.”

He called the Cathy clan “a wonderful Christian family who are committed to operating the company with Biblical principles and whose story is the true American success story” – one “that is being smeared by vicious hate speech and intolerant bigotry from the left.”

Huckabee declared Aug. 1 “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”
