Planned Parenthood = Penis Balloons, Vulva Puppets and Vagina Macaroons, But No Cancer Screenings

The American Life League, the “largest grassroots Catholic pro-life education organization" in the U.S., has a new video out about how the baby-killing perverts at Planned Parenthood, through their obsession with sex, are plotting to turn kids into sex addicts and thus drum up abortion business by showing them photos of gay pride parades, "selling pornogaphy as science," and teaching them about the clitoris and the "gateway drug" of masturbation. Really.

Show AllThe Taliban called.
They want their patriarchal fundamentalist misogyny back.
...or the Neo Cons have captured them too.
They've got to be trolling us. No one can be this stupid and still live... Right? Lie to me if you have to.
If someone showed that type of material to my kid, I would punch somebody in the f'ing face.
Ok, which 'type' of material are you objecting to? The PR bullshite from the right-wing whack-jobs? Or sex education and recognition of natural and normal sexuality?
If you are objecting to the latter, I will say "Thank you for conforming".
I don't know where American Life League gets the 'visuals' supposedly culled from so called 'Planned Parenthood' sites, but I perused Planned Parenhood's site and Facebook. No where can I find any of this proposed bullshit. I think these folks are as bad as Rush Limplance. Their spokesperson looks like Santorum's brother, and I will say, the same smarmy attitude. Looks like he needs some lube.
If ther is no truth to these claims, then, Planned Prenthood must sue for liable.
Is this Fox news? Far right Propaganda, republican bullshit! Fuck you, was this financed by Russ Limbaugh? the people that put this together should be arrested. Fucking lies. Typical. Planned parenthood Is trying to help keep the amount of pregnancies under control so welfare is also under control. Women's health is most important, cancer care, the Republicans could care less about women. Are these people wearing white sheets and hoods, getting ready to burn a cross, or bust a union? Better go back to the coal mine, the Koch brothers and NASCAR needs you.
I know for sure this is bull. I was a champion masturbator before the American Life League ever existed.
I'm a bit odd in that I never hooked up my computer's sound. Also, I don't really read lips. So, I just looked at the pictures. And then I kept hitting the pause button to read things, and pulling backwards a few seconds to run some scene again.
The stuff may or may not be true. However, I think that Catholics for Life made a really interesting video. They might be commended for their sexual frankness. I do wonder just a bit what they're actually saying, but really I don't care.
I just can't believe we're having this "conversation" in 2012. But then I thought that the debate about evolution was settled once and for all by the Scopes Trial in 1925. I'm hoping for a big flaming orgy of this shit at the 'Publican National Convention. Now that would be a yuk, and it might destroy them for a generation.
It must be comforting to his survivors to know that Andrew Breitbart did not live in vain.
PS: To paraphrase Woody Allen: Don't knock vulva puppets-- it's sex with someone I love.
"Unrestrained sex!" "They're telling kids how pleasurable sex is!" "Their information is stimulating!" "Forced voyeurism at gay pride parades!" This is a think tank's bubble-idea of any kind of planned parenting and/or the right NOT to parent. Oh, God, people doing it for fun and not signing up for all the debt-slavery of child-rearing! All of a sudden, though, I can't even think about the world war being cooked up by the conjoined psycho-imperial states of USrael.
This is so utterly ridiculous one thinks this is something that a satire site like The Onion has put out. That this is released in 2012 America with a straight face and serious intentions is a sorry commentary on the state of public discourse. The sole question for progressives is whom amongst either the producers or the audience who believes this tripe is more dangerous & / or pathetic. Either way, progressives must do all they can to make sure this crud is seen as quaint and ignorant leftover from an unenlightened past as quickly as possible.
When I was a senior at an all boys' prepschool- a guy who was a mighty Catholic-a self-described Defensor Fidei- came up with something called the CBIBFL (working from memory here, and it was a long time ago) or the Can't Beat It Before Lent society-for those for whom masturbation was a sin. You put in 50 cents-big money in those days-and the one who held out the longest got the pot. I didn't join, having no will power at all in these matters, and because I had doubts about how it would be determined who was or was not beating their meat. I do know that the Defensor Fidei when he got to Harvard found out that no one gave a shit about his religion or his obsession with sin. He has since become an Atheist, and a fairly militant one It's very fashionable now. Being fashionable was always his motivation.
Religion's Arbitrary and Irrational Moral Standards
"Whenever morality is based on theology, whenever the right is made dependent on divine authority, the most immoral, unjust, infamous things can be justified and established. . . . Morality is then surrendered to the groundless arbitrariness of religion." Ludwig Feuerbach
"It makes that a virtue which is not a virtue, and that a crime which is not a crime. Religion consists in a round of observances that have no relation whatever to natural goodness, but which rather exclude it by being a substitute for it. Penances and pilgrimages take the place of justice and mercy, benevolence and charity. Such a religion, so far from being a purifier, is the great corrupter of morals." Henry M. Field
"Faith drives a wedge between ethics and suffering. Where certain actions cause no suffering at all, religious dogmatists still maintain that they are evil and worthy of punishment. . . . And yet, where suffering and death are found in abundance their causes are often deemed to be good. . . . This inversion of priorities not only victimizes innocent people and squanders scarce resources; it completely falsifies our ethics." Sam Harris
Religion Promotes Ignorant and Barbarous Ideas About Morality
"The harm that theology has done is not to create cruel impulses, but to give them the sanction of what professes to be lofty ethic, and to confer an apparently sacred character upon practices which have come down from more ignorant and barbarous times." Bertrand Russell
"By inflaming and justifying the worst of human instincts as the will of God, theistic religions have resulted in countless millions of people being tortured and murdered." Joseph Daleiden
"I know of no crime that has not been defended by the church, in one form or other. The church is not a pioneer; it accepts a new truth, last of all, and only when denial has become useless." Robert Ingersoll
Doctrine of Forgiveness of Sins Produces Unethical Behavior
"The Christians say, that among the ancient Jews, if you committed a crime you had to kill a sheep. Now they say 'charge it.' 'Put it on the slate.' The Savior will pay it. In this way, rascality is sold on credit, and the credit system in morals, as in business, breeds extravagance." Robert Ingersoll
"The idea that there is a God who rewards and punishes, and who can reward, if he so wishes, the meanest and vilest of the human race, so that he will be eternally happy, and can punish the best of the human race, so that he will be eternally miserable, is subversive of all morality." Robert Ingersoll
"The atheist realizes that every selfish or cruel act and its consequences would remain uncomfortably remembered by himself, believing that no divine forgiveness is available to assuage the pangs of a guilty conscience." Frank Swancara
Religious Cultures Are Not Highly Moral
"One is often told that it is a very wrong thing to attack religion, because religion makes men virtuous. So I am told; I have not noticed it. . . . You find this curious fact, that the more intense has been the religion of any period and the more profound has been the dogmatic belief, the greater has been the cruelty and the worse has been the state of affairs." Bertrand Russell
"Probably in all history there is no instance of a society in which ecclesiastical power was dominant which was not at once stagnant, corrupt and brutal." George A. Reid
"The U.S. has more churchgoing than any other major democracy and it reports much higher rates of murder, rape, robbery, shootings, stabbings, drug use, unwed pregnancy, and the like, as well as occasional tragedies such as those at Waco and Jonestown. . . . There may be no link between the two conditions, but the saturation of religion has failed to prevent the severe crime level. . . . Societies rife with fundamentalism and religious tribalism are prone to sectarian violence. In contrast, England, Scandinavia, Canada, Japan, and such lands have scant churchgoing, yet their people are more inclined to live peaceably, in accord with the social contract. The evidence seems clear: To find living conditions that are safe, decent, orderly, and 'civilized,' avoid places with intense religion." James Haught
"Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom are among the least religious societies on earth. According to the United Nations' Human Development Report (2005), they are also the healthiest, as indicated by life expectancy, adult literacy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, homicide rate, and infant mortality. . . . Conversely, the fifty nations now ranked lowest in terms of the United Nations' human development index are unwaveringly religious." Sam Harris
"The same comparison holds true within the United States itself: Southern and Midwestern states, characterized by the highest levels of religious literalism, are especially plagued by [high rates of homicide, abortion, teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, and infant mortality], while the comparatively secular states of the Northeast conform to European standards." Sam Harris
"In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, venereal disease, teen pregnancy, and abortion." Gregory Paul
Interesting collection of quotes.
My point at Mar 7 2012 - 4:10pm, is that organized religion is applied many years -- if not decades -- after natural morality is discernible (in infants).
Trouble is, that organized religion twists and inverts that self-evident truth, whilst also obfuscating an egalitarian and global democratic perspective -- to instead instill the propaganda that the 'mightiest are the rightiest,' and edificial hierarchy self-righteously determines when supposed morality applies (as in NOT conflicting with warmongering rapacity and/or social control).
One of the most disruptive and divisive issues ever, is that organized religions have been effectively silenced and co-opted, and now do more to erode people's innate sense of what is right and wrong -- than ANYTHING ELSE, and that self-destructively to society, buttresses and supports rapacious hegemonic usurpation and control.
---------------------
Is it NO wonder that spiritual and mystical TRUTHS and practices (reinforcing what babies know, w/o religion), are so often ATTACKED -- when they allow and encourage people to decide for themselves, what their own self-contained (baby innocence) inner guidance means (e.g. following grace) ?
Should we not ask why ?
Why is such so often scurrilously denigrated and attempts are made (by rightwing reactionaries) to invalidate and obscure it ?
WHY -- are spiritual and mystical perspectives (aka higher consciousness, awareness) attacked ?
HOW -- is that which directly and intrinsically IS our BEST AVENUE to undermine the largest systems of social control, so often ATTACKED -- when it provides perhaps the most effectively way to thwart and mitigate the twisted violence waged AGAINST morality (e.g. social justice), and that which is truly virtuous ?
Who could or WOULD ever believe that advocating spiritual and mystical TRUTHS, would necessarily, be as bad or worse than organized religion ?
---------------------
Who would have ever thought that ?
That babies are smarter than multi-trillion$ of propaganda and deceit ?
Perhaps, we really are, too ?
------------
BTW, even though organized religion primarily supports the status quo and systems that subjugate most people, it still quite usefully penetrates into people's hearts and minds, and provides :
… that orchestrated sense of connection, oneness, growing solidarity, cohesiveness, hope, and beneficial identification with true morality and unprecedented future possibilities.
These institutions surely need re-treading
of their bald tiresome superficiality.
BUT, they still do quite productively serve some positive and encouraging purposes, and throwing that BABY out with the bath water, is exactly my point -- let's save that BABY !
How about we collectively somehow, figure out how to cleanse and disinfect organized religion's proclivity to play suck-up to corporatist power, and resist social change ?
I was in Boston a couple of summers ago, and had some time to kill before getting on a plane to fly back to California, so I stopped off at the Old South Church to have a look around. They had posters for bluegrass night, and jazz night, and all kinds of community outreach programs, and gardening projects and so on. There did not seem to be a lot of stuff about Jesus-except, of course, for the church itself, which was a relic of old time Waspdom and The Lord. I asked the rector how it was that the Congregationalists, once the baddest of ultra-repressive Puritans, had wound up becoming the folks who burned question marks on your lawn when they were pissed off at you-and she said without blinking an eye-"because the one thing they didn't proscribe was reading, so they just naturally evolved." Not bad.
Just more followers of Rush Limpballs! They couldn't do this shit if fools and rich people with agendas weren't giving them money. Perhaps it's time to go back to taxing religon!
Aren't these the people that allowed and enabled celibate old men to abuse the children of their congregations? Talk about "hooking" kids on sex? Why would anyone take them seriously?
Every new generation is subjected to spooky admonitions from elders trying to get off the hook of their own hangups..
When my grandmother caught my 5 year-old son in a fib, she told him "When you tell a lie, you get a black spot on your tongue - open your mouth!" Wide-eyed in horror, he clamped his hand over his mouth and ran away. Between his reaction and the logical irony, I cracked a rib.
Fifty-five years ago, when I started smoking, adults told me that it would stunt my growth. If that was true, I started just in time.
Smoking was one of my two favorite things to do when alone in the woods. The warning I got about the other pleasant pastime might have been true. I was the first kid in my class to wear glasses.
Thus enlightened, my advice to kids is don't play doctor before you're old enough to spell gynecology. I fully expect to be ignored, but I've done what I could, so I'm off the hook.
I once heard about a six year old who asked her parents where babies come from. After giving her a serious and thorough explanation, they asked if she had any questions. She said "Yes - how do you keep from laughing?" That healthy little kid's reaction is probably the best response to this spooky video.
skeptimist -
Nice post. I like your wry humor.
I always get a chuckle out of the line in the Cialis (or is it Viagra?) TV ad which breathlessly warns, "If you get an erection that lasts for more than four hours, seek immediate medical attention."
Four hours is chump change.
I once had an erection that lasted more than four years - seven years to be exact.
I was afflicted at age sixteen, and it wouldn't calm down until I was twenty three.

How to take the focus off Priests and Bishops raping kids and having the entire Church cover it up? Throw up a sh--storm about something else. This renewed push from the Catholic Church was surely cooked up by their PR firms in looking for the best way to obscure the Church's absolutely evil behavior. OF course hating women and controlling them sexually has long been part of this Church and the other fundamentalists.
T I N Y _ B A B I E S -- are naturally MORAL,
and science proves it again and again
(in ~ 7 out of every 10 experiments).
N O T E :
That is without the benefit of spoken language,
and or ANY religion -- just babies watching puppets
(selfless vs. selfish, … etc) interact -- and then
choosing which ones they like more.
So those human children that had to wait until kindergarten to discover 'everything that they needed to know,' were apparently many years late ?
Perhaps they too knew way back when they were infants ?
Please do read by rebuttal to ezeflyer (Mar 6 2012 - 11:49pm), who attempts to thoroughly trash ANY remaining value or virtue to organized religion, as well as any spiritual practices.
Isn't he throwing the baby out,
with the bath water ?

What about humankind's long obsessive and seemingly EMPTY pursuits with finding 'happiness,' purpose, and or meaning ?
Are not all of those -- sharing underneath them all (by mystical perspective) -- the yearnings of BEINGNESS, LIFE's interdependency and oneness, of our collective and individual deep desire to find and merge with unconditional LOVE ?
Are not our RELATIONSHIPS, the only things that really brings us 'happiness,' or at least, gets as close as most can achieve, so far ?
Is not it true, what the Beatles told us :
"All you need is LOVE" ?
Perhaps, with a large dose of
"IMAGINATION" ?
-------------------
Do our long obsessive pursuits of materialistic consumptive abandon and/or supposed security of unremitting warmongering, provide us ANY:
'happiness,' purpose, and/or meaning ?
Was Midas' rapacity able to purchase LOVE, or even food ?
The Selfish Gene is a book on evolution by Richard Dawkins, published in 1976. It builds upon the principal theory of George C. Williams's first book Adaptation and Natural Selection. Dawkins coined the term "selfish gene" as a way of expressing the gene-centred view of evolution as opposed to the views focused on the organism and the group. From the gene-centred view follows that the more two individuals are genetically related, the more sense (at the level of the genes) it makes for them to behave selflessly with each other. Therefore the concept is especially good at explaining many forms of altruism, regardless of a common misuse of the term along the lines of a selfishness gene.
An organism is expected to evolve to maximize its inclusive fitness—the number of copies of its genes passed on globally (rather than by a particular individual). As a result, populations will tend towards an evolutionarily stable strategy. The book also coins the term meme for a unit of human cultural evolution analogous to the gene, suggesting that such "selfish" replication may also model human culture, in a different sense. Memetics has become the subject of many studies since the publication of the book.
In the foreword to the book's 30th-anniversary edition, Dawkins said he "can readily see that [the book's title] might give an inadequate impression of its contents" and in retrospect thinks he should have taken Tom Maschler's advice and called the book The Immortal Gene.[1]

I see little reason or connection to what I posted, so I am compelled to ask why do post such, under my own comment about infant's natural and innate expression of MORALITY ?
Clearly genetic expression codifies what baby's do, well in advance of their being conditioned or having learned from their environment and/or experiences.
Clearly such morality evolved as a means to ensure the optimum propagation of the species, likely with so many psychopaths coasting along seemingly pretending to act like the rest of us, eating up many hosts' portions, as parasites are renown to do.
Just eat-up a portion, as it's a really stupid parasite that not only kills its host, but draws attention to itself, where staying very well hidden is the best defense, to oblivion (as useless life-sucking vampires of others).
Yes, psychopaths set new ground rules for selfish abandon, and actually negotiate and cooperate with other psychopaths, to restrict situations where they might directly compete and thereby ruin (reveal) the game that they play (they win, we lose).
It appears that you posit reactive "selfish gene" as some sort of veiled counter-argument, to generous and kindness imbued early existence -- but you prove nothing, and respond to even less.
Like this, which may be true, but irrelevant to my posting :
"the more two individuals are genetically related, the more sense (at the level of the genes) it makes for them to behave selflessly with each other."
If I had posted about altruism, then there is thread of plausible connection.
But I didn't.
Those interested, might want to see how I related this (above, infants' morality), to ezeflyer (Mar 6 2012 - 11:49pm) arguments that organized religion is deleterious to human life.
I personally believe that one's internal mental struggles with morality and actions, is part of the challenges Jung articulated, into what he called our "Shadow Selves."
SHADOW SELVES
What we deny about ourselves, EITHER positive or negative, is the basis for our subconsciously repressing such conceptually, and thereby creating an internal conflict that drives are egos to externalize and PROJECT onto others, what we cannot acknowledge about ourselves.
E_dging
G_od
O_ut
This is how supposed evil is projected and accentuated as an exaggerated thing, in a twisted way becoming semi-concrete.
E-SCAPE _ GOATING
Much like ancient scape-goating mapped collective guilt onto an innocent animal, to symbolically find some level of respite and redemption, as if killing that goat were able to clear out the repressed nonsense in our minds, nor make amends to those we've harmed.
This is made far worse by the collective unconscious mapping those things that an entire culture refused to acknowledge, or finds impossible and untenable to consider (e.g. 911 violating both the Laws of Nature & of Men).
What we repress, disallows even the need to evade or deny it's existence, as literally it is outside of our conscious thinking (by living within the subconscious).
The ego is literally oblivious to having taking something internal and habituated into supposed non-existence, and then projecting that seemingly despicable thing on others who share some bizarre connections with our fears and reactivity.
Logic, reason, and even regular awareness need not apply.
PARTNERSHIP
Only through the hard work of "Spiritual Partnerships" (per Gary Zukov) or similar pursuits, can people learning to recognize and challenge when their behaviors are coming from fear and hate, as compared to love and being generous.
We lend each other the support, that we ourselves cannot provide, alone.
Perhaps OCCUPY shares some aspects of this, were the community awareness is perceptive of many things individual still repress ?
It's a rather odd deal, where each of us is literally unable to understand or perceive what we project and repress -- while those around us -- depending upon what they allow or not, may see what we cannot.
What a perfect opportunity for partnership, but in fact, being courageous and vulnerable are only part of the contract for mutual transformation.
One becomes a coach to the other, becomes committed to the others' commitments -- but even more so -- is committed to discerning and aiding the other to excise deep portions of who they've (their egos') identified themselves to (seemingly) intrinsically be.
On the other side of this, you cannot be who you once were -- and that is small comfort to the ego, who defends such attacks against itself, as if the entire organism's life and survival were at stake -- just for some measly little repressed childhood experience … grown over decades of repetition to the solidity of being a pseudo-meme-robot.
There are no greater joys in living, nor challenges in overcoming such -- and that fits together as intimately as a hand and glove do
INTIMACY
… In to YOU - I see … … … ( yeah, you MAN, human)
…( IN TI MAn CY )
Michael Hitchman, what a closet case he is.
Isn't that cute: a pornographic video concocted by and for people who are too righteous to enjoy it. Apparently it's OK to be horny if one is also indignant about it.
