Until Righteousness Triumphs over Falsehood

An Israeli military court has rejected the appeal of Khader Adnan against a 4-month “administrative detention” order, leaving the 33-year-old Palestinian prisoner near death as he enters the 60th day of a hunger strike. Amidst hundreds of Palestinians joining in a solidarity hunger strike, calls for international action and pleas from his wife for global action, Adnan sent out a letter vowing to continue his strike on behalf of "my dignity and my people’s dignity."
In a letter from Zeiv Hospital, delivered by Jalal Abu Wasil, a lawyer from the Palestinian ministry of prisoners affairs, Adnan said he only drinks water and that he has lost 42 kilograms.
“I started my battle offering my soul to God almighty and adamant to go ahead until righteousness triumphs over falsehood. I am defending my dignity and my people’s dignity and not doing this in vain.
"The Israeli occupation has gone to extremes against our people, especially prisoners. I have been humiliated, beaten, and harassed by interrogators for no reason, and thus I swore to God I would fight the policy of administrative detention to which I and hundreds of my fellow prisoners fell prey,” Adnan wrote.
“Here I am in a hospital bed surrounded with prison wardens, handcuffed, and my foot tied to the bed. The only thing I can do is offer my soul to God as I believe righteousness and justice will eventually triumph over tyranny and oppression.
“I hereby assert that I am confronting the occupiers not for my own sake as an individual, but for the sake of thousands of prisoners who are being deprived of their simplest human rights while the world and international community look on.
"It is time the international community and the UN support prisoners and force the State of Israel to respect international human rights and stop treating prisoners as if they were not humans.”

Show AllIsreal: Land of racist torturers and murderers. No wonder the 1% in the US loves Israel so much.
Indefinite Detention coming soon to a prison near you.
I was hoping that Khader Adnan would end his hunger strike for the sake of his family, having taken a heroic stand for so long. I don't know what goes through his mind right now, but I hope he will put his family first, and call off the strike. Maybe his life will be more valuable to do more great things. But, like I said, I obviously do not know what he has in his mind. What a courageous man!
He is putting his family first...and his family is all of us. Oh...what we could learn from this brave soldier of....
Peace
After reading on the highly informative site addameer (link is in the article), I found that the Military Judicial System really can do you in. After being in and out of jail for 6 years his fast is far easier to understand than if it has been his first detention, first beating, first humiliation. Noting that any foreigner visiting Israel can also be held in custody for speaking out about politics, I sort of have decided that I will never visit the "holy land". Its way more dangerous politically now than to visit, say for example, Tunesia. At least I feel that way. Actually the Military Judicial System is highly reminiscent of other oppressive states (Egypts and Syrias military know what I am talking about) and quite comparable to one of the main decrees that allowed Hitler to gain nationwide power. The power to place into custody anyone for any political reason by any means necessary. Israel needs to get rid of those laws. They are being used to abuse their own citizens, to which the palestianians legally belong. I hope that Khader Adnan survives. Its not looking good though.
My heart is with Khader Adnan, his family, and all of those on whose behalf he is nobly and nonviolently protesting.
