Renting the Snow

After police repeatedly denied them permits to protest disputed elections that will return Vladimir Putin to power, ingenious Russian activists in the Siberian city of Barnaul rolled out mini-protests by dolls, Lego men, teddy bears and South Park figures complete with mini-placards reading, "I'm for clean elections." The police were not amused.
"Political opposition forces are using new technologies to carry out public events....In our opinion, this is still an unsanctioned public event." - deputy police chief Andrei Mulintsev.

Show AllThe cutest protest ever!
Okay, I like the idea.
Interesting and sad info on Gay rights in Russia:
"The jumpiest police were found this week in Kaliningrad, Russia's Baltic exclave. As two dozen nationalist youth took to the streets for a jog designed to promote a healthy lifestyle, carrying their traditional black, yellow and white flag, police descended upon the rally, having confused it for a gay pride parade. Gay rights remain largely unrecognised in Russia, and gay rights rallies are regularly banned. Police questioned the activists before releasing them, local media reported."
This is what legocracy looks like!
The FSB has already started building the Lego Gulag.
The care bear rebellion.
Of course it's still an unsanctioned public event. What the authorities are against is not the 'new technology', they are against the old ideas of tolerance and freedom.
Russia is a land of intolerance and totalitarianism--just as the United States is becoming.
Becoming??!
perhaps a line of seated and bound legofolk being peppersprayed by a legomaniac...
New technologies? Like cameras (1888)? Lego(1947)? Cell phones(1973)?
I suggest that the Elite are using old excuses to invent new crimes to punish the populace for wanting to have a voice.
