Criminalizing Our Voices

With almost no media coverage, the NYPD is blithely continuing its crackdown on OWS and free speech in general - ironically, particularly when it involves protesting the restriction of free speech and other constitutional rights that is the National Defense Authorization Act. Police this week evicted and then arrested volunteers for the Global Revolution livestream covering NDAA protests. They acted after issuing a vacate order to the Brooklyn office for "conditions imminently perilous to life," but somehow only to the lives of those running the livestream. Police also arrested a protester leading a mic-check at Grand Central Station against the NDAA, behavior that evidently "may cause annoyance or inconvenience to a reasonable person" - unless of course that person believes in the quaint and formerly fiercely protected concept known as free speech.

Show AllThese people must be terrorists, Bloomberg can hold them indefinitely now, isn't there a problem with over crowding, the jails are full of pot smokers, now terrorists, what a bunch of threatening, dangerous people. Thank god we have these cops to protect us.
"Twerp" Kelly, Bloomberg's henchman, expects to run for may against wimp Christine Quinn. Yuck!
"Bloomberg can hold them indefinitely now, isn't there a problem with over crowding, the jails are full of pot smokers, now terrorists,"
That's why Bush II had KBR build their no-bid concentration camps. There should be room for all.
These people have been planning this for years, preparing for the inevitable blow-back.
I read that it was Clinton that started building them. Probably right after hevdismantled Glass Steagal. He knew eventually the economy would blow up like it did and people would get pissed.
I can't wait for NY to state they are broke and start laying off the police.
It will serve them right. OWS is screaming for them too.
Just how stupid do you need to be to not see that coming.
But with the over excessive, brutish use of force they have used, I will cheer that day.
Minitrue is right. There are interment camps (empty at present as far as we know) all over this country in places uninhabited by most citizens. That's why they want to take our Social Security now -- they are greedy and they are putting us in interment camps so we won't need it anyway. SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK!
Folks; When the authorities behave in this manner, the solution is to go to court, individually.Every person who is touched, pepper sprayed, arrested, pushed, threatened, etc., etc. must, MUST, do the following immediately after the incident. Report the incident to the authorities as a criminal act, file civil suit in state court against the authority represented by the assaulter, and sue the person perpetrating the assault as an individual. This will get his/her attention.,. Also, file a civil rights complaint with the federal authorities and seek injunctions against such behavior in federal court. The thing here is to flood the authorities with paper. When civil suits are filed the allegations contained in the civil suit must be answered or the plaintiff(s) will received a default judgment. YOU win. There are underemployed or unemployed young lawyers that can do and will do the preparation of these documents. It isn't rocket science. Please, all of you fight back wherever you can. Make them pay.
That's all well and good, but do you have any idea how long that takes? There are still lawsuits pending against the NYPD for their unlawful mass arrests during the 2004 Republican National Convention, where they threw us into a toxic gulag called Pier 57, infested with asbestos and other dangerous chemicals. The City has thrown up roadblock after roadblock in delaying justice in this case, and here we are nearly eight years later with no settlement.
Sure, file suit against all these gestapo tactics against Occupy Wall Street, and maybe just maybe in the glorious year of 2022 we might get our justice.
the pieces are moving on the board, though we are not yet near endgame, and stopping the livestream is one,...the fema concentration camps are a major future move now being prepared..
Yup. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at the video of the NYPD's arrests of these independent journalists: http://yfrog.com/nlfe5z
It's chilling to watch how cold and methodical it all is, and I still for the life of me can't figure out what -- if any -- laws these people are breaking. One of the arrestees, when asked why she was going to jail, replied, "For being on the sidewalk."
These arrests have no explanation other than blatant intimidation and harassment of independent journalists. Mayor Billionaire Bloomberg, a member of the 1% and a fascist, is simply working to crush a popular movement for change, and intimidate any independent journalists that might present an honest portrayal of this repression.
And Lady Gaga, Illuminati puppet, kissed this scumbag on the lips in front of an audience of millions. You think that was spontaneous? Not me, I think it was orchestrated as a way to endear the public to the fascist Bloomberg as he accelerates the repression of the police state.
