Earlier this year, Palin drew sharp criticism for featuring a map on her web page riddled with crosshairs targeting Democrats in vulnerable congressional districts. Tucson's Gabrielle Giffords is among the 20 Democratic incumbents whom Palin intends to use for target practice.

The US Press will say this was a lone gunman. I put the blame of this cold-blooded murder at the feet of the United States Republican Party and their cohorts for the hate rhetoric that they backhandly encourage and do not defuse.
The call themselves Conservatives and they are killing this country with their hate speech. Fox News is their bullhorn and Rush Limbaugh and is ilk is their first base hit men.
I am so upset, sadden and angry.

If you are worried about being put on a list of some sort, you may already be on one even before you sent off anything to the BBC. It seems anyone who chooses to think for themselves is watched by someone, somewhere. We do what we MUST because our conscience will allow nothing less. It is frightening to be in someone's cross hairs, but living with the nagging feeling that you might have been able to stop or slow something clearly nefarious down is much, much worse. Thank you for listening to your heart's courage before the voice of fear shook your intellect. I'll pray for you in as much as I pray for us all. Choose to be proud of yourself. You could be one of the Germans who refused to tote the Nazi line. Isn't that better than shame?

"Bing on a list" reminds me of what happened to a friend of my mom in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1946. Our friend had applied for a government job for which she was eminently qualified but was turned down. She then found out that she had wrongly been placed on a list of "communists" even though she had been a Social Democrat all her life. She wrote a letter to the Prime Minister who was a Social Democrat at the time hoping that he, who had access to that list, would have her removed from the list. Her much savvier son told her: "mom, all you will achieve is that your name will be placed on a list that even the Prime Minister is not allowed to see".
The eight hundred pound "semi automatic weapon" in the story is the NRA power an influence and our insane gun laws! Take the horrible violence happening just across our border? Imagine if that was unleashed in this country? after all, those guns are coming from this side of the border! and the "Hate Media" at an all time high, it doesn't get any scarier than that? I'm glad I live in a fairly sane state! or do I?
Speaking of border violence. Here is a tale of two cities, separated by a border. El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. One city lies in a country with the most liberal gun laws in the world, and is in a State with even laxer restrictions. The other city lies in a country with some of the world's most strict gun control laws.
In one city, NO ONE can legally carry a gun in the street. In the other city, ANYONE may get a licence to legally carry a concealed weapon.
One city had over 3,000 gun murders last year.
The other city had 1 (one) gun murder.
Based on the above, anyone who thinks "gun control" actually stops crime is a fool. And a tool of the corporate elite, which seeks to disarm the masses.
Has the mainstream made, since this Staurday's mayhem, just a single mention of Sarah's crosshairs?
Has the mainstream media once metioned, since Saturday's mayhem, Sarah's crosshairs? Or, better said, her bullseyes on the political map?

By calling attention to the ones on her hit list, including names, and probably pictures, Palin might have contributed material support to the "terrorist" who did the shooting.

I just hope this ends Palin's "career" once and for all, and that she fades into obscurity, bankrupt. She is a arrogant, money-grubbing, psychopathic, fame-whore demagogue, and an example of everything that is wrong with this country. It remains to be seen if Fox uses its usual strategy in cases like these and gives her a lot of airtime to spin the event her way.

Yes, I've picked up the first strain of that narrative on CNN just mow as the talking head with a great voice was interviewing a NY Democratic Congressman. He asked, "Will this have an effect on political speech?"
The Congressman took this as an opening to call for less violent rhetoric. But the talking head's tone to me inserted the word "chilling" so he was really asking, "Will this have a chilling effect of political speech?"
The narrative will be that DFHs will use this to try to censor free speech.
There are actually a lot of links to his videos and web content. He was nutty. He thought he was either a mind controller or being controlled. This is a pretty common sort of paranoia on the internet. He is, as far as I can see, a garden variety kook with a gun. If you had read his stuff on the internet, you could pretty plainly see ought not to have had one. Sadly this stuff doesn't come out when you buy guns.
The pistol packin mama grizzly from Alaska along with Limbaugh and Fox News, among others, have contributed to this type of hate mongering and murder in Arizona. Some way, some day, these fascists must be stopped before more innocent people are murdered! Palins website actually named Congresswoman Gifford as one of the politicians in her gun sight cross hairs! She needs to be tried in a court of law for being an accessory to the attempted murder of Congress woman, Gifford as well as the murder of her aid!
I don't know what information has come out about the shooter, but it appears too early to cast blame in any particular direction.
What I would say is that this is just more of the same. Violence within an insane system. I don't say this to condone it, but to recognize that insane acts within an insane asylum should be expected.
Let's pause, mourn the dead (without and within us), and start living more sanely. There are many of us within this asylum who know that the real insane ones are the administrators. Let's help each other overcome our own insanity, and in so doing, make the administrators irrelevant.

Whitewashed, did you know that right outside the Silverspring, Md. metro stop, near the Learning Channel (i was thinking Discovery Channel), there had been a large banner and protests before the show was aired.

It was bound to happen. I have seen the so called rightwing advocating killing liberals, aks democrats, but I have yet to see a liberal advocating killing rightwingers. I guess all the Limbaugh, Beck, Palin, and Fox news rhetoric has gotten them what they want, the death of a liberal democrat.
I have a question for the NRA rightwing gun toting people: You say you need the right to carry a weapon to protect yourself and other but where were you today. Guess they must have just watched or maybe they consider protecting themselves killing anyone that does not agree with them.

This latest shooter had no criminal record, he bought the semi-automatic Glock legally and had an extra clip. The gun nuts are forever saying that more guns in more hands makes for a safer environment. The gun nuts NRA types are forever telling us after the latest mass slaughter that if only other people in the crowd could have had guns then the shooter could have been stopped. Well, Arizona is a gun crazy state, awash in guns, where it's a lot easier to buy and own guns and carry them around and it was of no help. All Baloney. Two brave souls tackled the shooter to the ground and stopped him without guns which gives the lie to the NRA argument that we need more guns and that almost everyone should be armed. GARBAGE. This country is awash with guns and too many of those guns are capable of spraying out bullets in a short span. Too many unstable jerks with no criminal records can legally purchase guns as was the case with the latest shooter, Loughner. Wasn't it Sharron Angle who called for a 2nd amendment solution. After the Virginia Tech slaughter the gun nuts were screaming that if only all the students and faculty were carrying guns then they could have stopped that crazy shooter who legally bought a gun, too. Remember?

I hope you all have noticed that unemployment levels for veterans returning from the Bush/Obama oil/terror wars have consistently exceeded civilian unemployment levels in the U.S. From similarly brutalized then unemployed ranks grew the Brownshirt movement of the early Nazi Party. I think that no one would consider the killers of Presidents McKinley or Kennedy terrorist. This killer, however, seems to be different. According to eyewitnesses he used an automatic weapon with which he sprayed bullets randomly into the crowd. To me that is the hallmark of a terrorist because he intended to terrorize all future attendants of political rallys by hated politicians marked for extinction by him and his supporters. As the French might say when a murder is committed: "cherchez la femme".

It's pretty hard to kill a human with a randomly aimed bullet. Yet he killed about 8 and wounded 17, with 2 clips. Sounds like he was an expert.
Apparently , right wing lunatics, and the neocons are so used to getting their way, including starting Wars for Profit that never end against an enemy with global borders,, warrant less surveillance with private contractors from the military industrial complex setting up fusion centers and a nation wide data collection network of computers and community watch stasi spy freaks,,,,, killing and torturing are just tools for a quick fix.
They have no fear, no shame , and confuse patriotism with blind ignorance of the Constitution.
The Constitution, which was setup and created by our founding Fathers in hopes that we would use its legal power of checks and balances to move us forward in the pursuit of happiness by protecting our civil liberties and freedoms.
But it comes down to he who has the bigger gun , which country has the more powerful military, and which society of fools is willing to sacrifice freedom for security provided by the very elite that want us all enslaved by their propaganda.
I dont know why this guy unloaded on twelve people, and we will never know why, because thats the point. More fear and hysteria, generated by crazy people, who are pushed over the edge by other people who want a certain outcome from the fear.
Just like all shooters over the last 10 years, we really never get a full report about the person, their history. Something always drives people over the murderous edge, question is what circumstances and who was involved.
And thats where 9/11 stopped, and thats where this will stop. They will fill the air waves with the details of the minute by minute event. We will know everything that happened in the shooters life 5 minutes before he unloaded, and every minute after in his life,the media circus of distraction , but nothing that will tell us what happened that sent this guy over the edge, other than the bullshit the Main Stream media invent.
