Video has been released of Congressional testimony by Sgt. Chuck Luther, wounded in Iraq and then tortured by his own until he signed paperwork saying his problems were caused by a personality disorder, thus making him ineligible for benefits. Astounding. He subsequently created the group Disposable Warriors. Happy Veterans' Day.
wake me up when Luther forms another group called "the iraqis i disposed of".

UNIVERSAL SOLDIER
Buffy St. Marie
He is five foot two,
and he's six feet four,
he fights with missiles and with spears,
he is all of thirty-one,
and he's only a seventeen,
he's been a soldier for thousands years.
He's a Catolic, a Hindu,
an atheist, a Jain,
a Buddhist, a Baptist and a Jew,
and he knows he shouldn't kill,
and he knows he always will,
kill me for you my friend and you for me.
And he's fighting for Canada,
he's fighting for France,
he's fighting for the USA
and he's fighting for the Russians,
he's fihgting for Japan,
and he thinks we put an end to war this way.
And he's fighting for democrazy,
he's fighting for the Reds,
he says it's for the peace of all,
he's the one who must decide,
who's to live and who's to die,
and he never sees the writing on the wall.
And without him, how would Hitler
have killed him at Dachau,
without him Caesar would have stood alone,
he's the one, who gives his body
as a weapon of the war,
and without him the killing can't go on.
He's the universal soldier,
and he really is to blame,
his orders came from far away, no more,
they came from here and there,
and you and me ain't brothers,
can't you see,
this is not the way we put an end to war.

curiousteve, you seem to have about as much compassion as the soldiers who beat this guy? You would do well to 'dispose' of this type of comment. Ya know, I don't nessesarily think there is anything truly to thank the military for, but extending your crappy ass logic and malignment to someone who has been tortured for WHATEVER reason is hurtful at best. Most of these folks are 'poverty drafted' anyway. I don't support what they do, but even more so, I detest what this country, land of the free?, does to our youth under the auspices of touting our military, not to mention religious superiority over anyone elses. Our 'top gun' military commanders are the most unscrupulous bunch of cowards the world has ever seen.

Not only is it barbarous what they did to Sgt. Luther, I think its downright monstrous. A man who was injured in battle is denied care and even locked up and tortured. Is our military just as bad as the Russian military was, gunning down deserters in WWII? I question whether the people who subjected him to this treatment even have souls.

Not to put too fine a point on it but Sgt. Luther isn't the only victim here. I do have some compassion for the man but how many dead, damaged and suffering did he leave in his own wake while he was living by the sword?

The U.S. is the biggest criminal, terrorist organization in the world. We operate above any and all laws, invade who we please, kill whomever we please, cross borders at will with our military and covert ops, reserve the right to actually use nuclear weapons on any nation (in the words of both Shrub and Hillary) we choose, torture anyone by changing their definition from "prisoners of war" to "enemy combatants," led by a President who - on national TV - declares he has the right to order the death of any human being on the planet without due process on his say-so alone, led by a former President who admits in writing, proudly, that he ordered torture and committed known war crimes.
How any American can actually say they love this country is beyond me.

dkshaw, thank you for the Universal Soldier. I have been thinking about that song and even mentioned it on CD but I could not remember the singer or the words
Does anyone think that the ruling class deliberately ruined the economy to get more recruits because then young Americans can't get any other job. If only the future soldiers knew what happens to them in the military. They think that they only need to be willing to sacrifice their life.Limb, sight, hearing, burned skin. internal organs, personality, mind and soul, freedom belong to the commanders to dispose of for the glory of the ruling class.Soldiers and civilians give up their dignity as human beings and all the human rights that should go with being a human being. It is a lie that it is necessary for poor and middle class Americans to slaughter poor and middle class foreigners for freedom. Lies enslave us all therefore there is no freedom to fight for. It is no wonder there are so many suicides among the troops. I wonder if anyone knows how many civilian victims of the soldiers commit suicide?
Listen children to a story that was written long ago
'bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below.
On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone,
and the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.
So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill
asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill.
Came an answer from the kingdom: "With our brothers we will share
all the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there."
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.
Now the valley cried with anger; mount your horses, draw your sword,
and they killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward.
Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red,
turned the stone and looked beneath it. "Peace on earth" was all it said.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

Than the Military abused and tortured him what they had taught him to do. The Pentagon, Military establishments and the government covered up. In the hearing the Republican Law maker's Steve Buyers don't believe anything testified and walked out. Checking further including Obama, ABC, RT and etc. This is really pathetic. As a victim of coin tel pro , American gang stalking torture, we are all disposable if we step out of line,
My reason for being stalking was simply working for the wrong company at the wrong time.
They are part of infrgard, and needed an innocent victim to train and recruit others.
So, when I figured out who these people were, and who was funding them, I started protesting the wars, supporting our troops by asking for them to come home.
Little did I know, that it was not bad enough that our precious blood was being sacrificed in two wars of occupation based on lies, that they too were being tortured in many ways for not joining on base Christian church's or not obeying orders that were detrimental their own health or receiving benefits.
All that bullshit, and the Patriot Acts and warrant less surveillance being shoved down our throats in direct violation of constitutional protection.
America, we have failed our troops and to protect the constitution from domestic enemies .

While the soldiers who refuse to fight in unjust, illegal and immoral and unnecessary wars are to be admired, most of our soldiers, unfortunately, don't have the resources, let alone gumption to refuse to do that. As for the soldier who was tortured until he signed papers claiming that his problems stemmed from a personality disorder, one can not like him for what he did, and yet sympathize with him for what he went through.

OMG! Did any of you check out the Disposable Warriors website? What a celebration of heros of death and destruction! I am sad for this soldier's mistreatment and suffering; nobody should be treated inhumanely. But as far as I can see, the website he went on to create is romantic worship of medals and such of brothers-in-arms who treat people inhumanely, in defense of occupation. Scary!

If you have HBO you should see Gandolfini's "War Torn." It will get you very angry, and it is difficult to view, and for us on CD this is preaching to the choir. It should be required viewing in Congress and, most especially, for the war criminal Obama. It spans stories of "shell shock" going back to the Civil War, but intertwined and the main focus is the stories of our soldiers currently. You will also see tragic pictures of the Afghan and Iraqi victims. We are either creating monsters over there or we are creating these tragedies. And there certainly isn't any progress since the Civil War.

When several million workers returned from combat after World War II, the government listened very carefully to their demands because they all knew how to operate every weapon you could imagine, and on top of that they had four years of killing under their hats.
The government is not doing that now. Why? Because the 'war' is not legal. It never was. They don't want to head a damn thing from the front lines. Why? You can't listen to people who served in illegal wars, they are war criminals. Why listen to them?
Vietnam vets have spoken to me about similar confused receptions when they returned.
What's happening is the collective behavior of people who learned the lesson of WWII. Unfortunately, the lesson learned was how to commit a war crime while simultaneously providing you the cover for that crime.
In other words, start a fight with someone and hire another guy to beat that someone up. When the cops show up you hide behind the "It wasn't me! Honest, I never touched the guy, see?" The cop then busts the guy you hired.
It's called a "fall guy".
It is very clever and it takes a minute to figure it out.
But once you do...the training wheels are off, man.

Listen! SHOCK AND AWE and the altering of man's minds.
"Ullman wants the U.S. to (in his words) deter and overpower an adversary through the adversarys perception and fear of his vulnerability and our own invincibility.
This ability to impose massive shock and awe, in essence to be able to 'turn the lights on and off' of an adversary as we choose, will so overload the perception, knowledge and understanding of that adversary that there will be no choice except to cease and desist or risk complete and total destruction."
Ullman is ready to use every kind of weapon to create shock and awe.
*******He once said it might be a good idea to use electromagnetic waves that attack peoples neurological systems, to control the will and perception of adversaries, by applying a regime of shock and awe. It is about effecting behavior.*******
When it comes to Iraq, Ullman likes the idea of cruise missiles -- lots of them, right away. CBS News reports that Ullmans ideas are the basis for the Pentagons war plan. The U.S. will smash Baghdad with up to 800 cruise missiles in the first two days of the war. Thats about one every four minutes, day and night, for 48 hours."
We the people, of the many lands who are well aware of what Ullman has, for they have it too... can be and will be manipulated.
