One Afghan Civilian=Six U.S. Soldiers

Each time U.S. or NATO forces accidentally kill Afghan civilians, insurgents and their sympathizers retaliate with six new assaults on foreign forces, says a new study based on declassified NATO data. Is there really anything else we need to know about the folly that is this war? Photos of some of the Afghan victims here. Warning: Very graphic.

Show AllUSA war reporting is either completely sanitized or comes with a warning that the delicate senses of the public might be offended by 'graphic' photos. Graphic photos of war should be a requirement not an exception. The public needs to be shocked out of their blind support for their governments world wide aggression. They should be "Clock Work Oranged" until they scream for the horrors to stop.
Sorry, but we only see graphic photos when they support the argument for military intervention and occupation. The cover of Time ("What Happens if we Leave Afghanistan") being a particularly lurid example.
I agree with sirios, but your further point and example, newbie, couldn't be more perfect. I recoiled in horror--of the depraved propaganda--when I saw that cover!
The American people, from the politicians on down, really need to be shaken up.
The blowback from letting Israel dictate our Middle East policy will be huge.
Israel's not even the topic of this thread. You're too obsessed, tiredoftrolls.
You don't have to see the relevancy if you don't want to.
It seems to me that the people of Afghanistan are doing the same thing every American would do if we were invaded. They are fighting back.
One Afghan Civilian = Six U.S. Soldiers
Three Thousand U.S.(9-11) Civilians = How Many U.S. Soldiers and Hundreds of Thousands or Millions (U.S. Does Not Do Body Counts) of Afghan and Iraqi Civilians?
When a Country decides to attack another one, the people that are doing the attack need to see their handywork. this stuff should be on T.V. every nite ! We are the terrorists, we are the murderers. Obama is a monster just like Bush. These people are going to hate us for hundreds of years, and I do not blame them. The even sadder part is that we are no where near being done. Today our young Americans from the tough streets of L.A. and Baltimore, and fresh out of juvinile detention, that we taught to kill, will be doing just that all day long. Killing, and bombing, and God knows what. What do we get if we win ? A country so poor, and ravaged, I want out of this war....what can we do ? We must March. I have called, and written to many officials, and that is a waist of time...well maybe not, if eveyone was doing it. These kids need us,like that other post said, we would defend our families too if some crazed army came to our country, and started blowing it up looking for a few guys....what the fck ...who the fck are we...Americans ,monsters, the evil ones. We have done this to Iraq to. I was watching the news the other day and they were talking to a man in Bagdad, and all around them was rubble, and blown up buildings, we have demolished that country. How horrible. I hate that I am the Hitler of this generation. That my country will be the one that is looked down upon for such horrors, and for being so inhumane. There is not one good thing that can be said. To make matters worse, many Americans think this is a good thing... I am not sure I can be an American any longer, it is to shameful
Lousy Headline
More like: 60 Afghan Civilians (1 attack) = 1 NATO & 5 Afghan Soldiers (6 attacks)
Doesn't make much of a headline though...
This awful situation will go on until the US war machine becomes destitute. As the War Machine is the most profitable operation the Oligarchy has, I don't see it happening soon.
You know, Islam is not a violent religion. In fact, it forbids war except in self defense, and it forbids war on women, children and the elderly.
An enormously powerful nation has occupied Afghanistan, Iraq and is working on Pakistan, with Iran in the wings. It makes war upon women, children and the elderly, destroying villages, means of livelihood, food supplies. Every protest is met with deadly force. A Quisling government has been put in power by the invaders, to do their will by proxy. Any attempt to rid itself of these Quislings is, again, met with overwhelming force and those who protest become outlaws (insurgents, terrorists) and they and their families are fair game.
When the future United States was fighting the enormous British government for its freedom, Americans were also hunted like dogs. The British, who marched in columns and fought in squares, were outraged at the Americans, who skulked behind trees and shot Redcoats from behind hedgerows and fences, then ran away to fight another day.
There were bounties, homes and farms were burned, people hanged or shot by firing squad. Those captured, if not killed outright, were sent to British prison hulks, to lie in filth, eat foul food and drink bad water, until most died of illness, hunger, and loss of hope.
The fight went on for years, but finally the Americans gained enough strength, and allies to their cause, to bring the war to an end and we got our freedom.
Tell me, please, what is different in Afghanistan today? Why do we, who should know better, continue this mad persecution? (Rhetorical; I know, greed, oil, power, MICC profits.)
A small group of dedicated men in a country with little industrial strength took on the mighty British Empire and, at great cost, won.
Isn't it possible that the same thing will happen in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq, for the same reasons?
"Am I not a man, and a brother?"
What have I done to you to make you unleash all those billions of dollars of arms against me? I am unarmed. Have you no mercy?
