From the Electronic Intifada, an open letter to Gil
Scott-Heron urging him to cancel
his planned performance next month in Tel Aviv as a show of solidarity
with Palestinians. Just as Scott-Heron supported boycotts against South
African apartheid, it argues, he should honor similar calls against
Israeli apartheid.

"In the anti-apartheid anthem 'Johannesburg' you sing, "I know that
their
strugglin' over there ain't gonna free me/but we've all got to be
strugglin' if we're gonna be free." Stay with the people and on the side
of justice."
