We'll miss Michael Steele when the Republicans decide he's too weird
and incompetent even for them. This week he is defending the GOP meeting
in Hawaii with protestations of hard work and "staking a claim in
Obama's backyard" and other baffling but entertaining non-sequiturs.
"People talk about Hawaii as a resort and
all that stuff. It's no different than going to Florida. It's not like
doing anything extra....I will tell you, it's far. But do you know what
it cost and the time it takes for the people from Guam and American
Samoa and Hawaii to come to New York?"
