Rhetoric Vs. Reality
On the same day he received the Nobel Peace Prize, the ACLU blasted President Obama for shielding Bush officials from accountability for its torture polices "on every front....from civil liability, criminal investigation and even public scrutiny." To date, it noted, "not a single torture victim has had his day in court."
"The Bush administration constructed a legal framework for torture," said the ACLU's Jameel Jaffer. "Now the Obama administration is constructing a legal framework for impunity."

Show AllWhat did you expect from this Bush's puppet government, justice? the only place you will ever find justice in this bullshit state is in the dictionary--thanks to the Zionists controllers.
Again, the NAPPY (No Account President and Party of Yoo) prevail.
This just makes Obama and Holder co-conspiritors after the fact, doesn't it? Which would be an impeachable offence!
Wake up folks, thats why the founding fathers put it in the constitution, they expected us to use it!
Face it guys, he lied to you. And he continues to lie to you!
Robert "uncle Bobby" Gates is a war criminal with his hands bloody, so is General McChrystal. They were involved in the torture etc. And these guys were picked by Obama from the get go. (or held over from Bush Jr, I should say).
This may put another (ig) Nobel Peace prize in the pipeline for you know who...
The international and federal laws forbidding torture of detainees provide no defense based on necessity or discovery of valuable intelligence.
Cheney has confused Americans, apparently including Obama, by implying that there is a defense. He did this by claiming, with no credible evidence, that information vital to national security was obtained by torturing detainees.
A criminal law that isn't enforced is no better than no law at all. Al Qaeda can truthfully tell potential recruits that they're training to attack a nation that believes in torturing Muslims.
The ACLU has the clout to do something about this. Just whining about it isn't enough. Prosecutors, grand juries, and law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction of the crimes should be individually approached and urged to act upon probable cause against those who violated the law.
Obama is missing his chance to have Cheney silenced.
You mean O'Bomber repeated the Bush/Cheney lies verbatim, but with no goofy smirk.
O'bomber?
I understand the arguments of legal/constitutional experts on this issue but when you have already declared the "deciders" to go shot free it would be pretty cowardly to use Mr. Yoo as the proverbial whipping boy.
Cicero: "Freedom is participation in power."
These here newfangled knee-oh-liberal Dim-uhcrats are up the bull's sluice without a rubber glove or vaseline. They've already scunnered so much of the old base whut done brung 'em to this here majority dance they are sunk next two elections if they don't do nothin' to earn some a them back.
I've been talking with several black Dim Party apparatchiks here in the Deep South lately and they are so full of nervous excuses it makes you want to make their heads ring with a shovel.
But I will tell you this: Not even two months ago, every other young black person from the age of 18 to 29 was wearing Obama T-shirts on the public commuter rail line (and many of their elders, too) every time I got on the train. Now? I haven't seen a single Obama T-shirt in four or five weeks. These are mainly young blacks from the hoods and they've already turned away from this traitor creep. Those bung-hill Dimocrats in D.C. are going to get their clocks cleaned in what may be the biggest one-term reverse landslide in U.S. history and none too soon for these fascist-lite gimps.
That means if the Rethugs can come up with even a mildly charismatic stick figure who sticks to the script they're going to take the White House and then the rough ride really begins.
It is progressive's own fault if they are not already organized to seize the opportunity in 2016--since they sure as hell aren't organized to seize the opportunity in 2010 or 2012.
There is no better time than NOW to join the ACLU.
...while we still have the liberty to do so.

George W. Obama has followed perfectly in his predecessor's footsteps.
I did not "waste" my vote for him but I did
not believe he would be nearly as perfect a Bush replica as he is

A federal judge has found the Defense Department in contempt of court for failing to videotape the testimony of a prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay.
U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler is demanding a detailed explanation of why the Pentagon failed to conduct the taping as she had directed.
The detainee, Mohammed Al-Adahi of Yemen, is challenging his indefinite detention at the prison in Cuba.
The judge said she wanted the proceeding with the detainee videotaped to provide the public and the news media the greatest possible portion of Al-Adahi's testimony.
In August, Kessler ordered the government to take all possible steps to arrange for the release of Al-Adahi.

IF OBAmA is the Cover-up man for the CRIMES of the Bushies - as well as covering up HIS own crimes and more crimes to commit :
this is like the classic case in law, such as in watergate that did in nixon:
"THE COVERUP being worse than the crime".
the crimes are bad enough - covering them up makes them not just worse -- but ADDS a new crime.
Really appreciate two paragraphs on this subject. Very informative. This type of reporting is sure to change the world. I suppose you think the photo says it all?
Here again we have the case of the audacity of hot air and hypocrisy.
