"Military Intelligence"
During an inquiry into Britain's role in the Iraq war, a British MP said an Iraqi taxi driver was the source of the bogus claim that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. This guy may or may not have overheard something about missiles in the back of his cab - two years earlier. This was the evidence for going to war. Surreal.

The taxi driver fabble would be hilarious if the consequences of the US Ir-Af-Pak occupation weren't so deadly to so many innocent people.
Even if Iraq had had weapons of mass destruction, like the US, UK and Israel, that was no reason to attack and plunder for control of their oil.
Yes, the taxi driver is claimed to be the source to all this (journalists like to quote taxi drivers) but it should be remembered Adam Holloway is a Tory and that there are partisan issues going on here, fights among Britain's political parties. It's too early to jump to a conclusion -- is it realistic to believe top military officers would risk their careers because a taxi driver might have heard this, and maybe even out of context?

It's not the top military officers, it's Tony Blair, the man who continually sells pieces of his soul, to the highest bidder, in this case to GWBUSH & company.
We are governed by psychopathic people who have their own twisted, personal visions and dreams of glory, and they will make up anything to get their way ... and get rich, and be POWERFUL, etc.
Nearly one and a half million Iraqi civilians have been killed. Many of the wounded are maimed and disabled for life. Babies are being born with horrible birth defects. The country is like a mixmaster on high speed. When the SHOCK and AWE started, five million Iraqi people fled and are refugees.
And ya' know what? Guaranteed ... these "leaders" who brought this about have absolutely no remorse and no second thoughts. But they are afraid as the facts will out because Justice just might catch up with them and prevail. Let's hope so.

No matter, like the Hutton Enquiry this is a whitewash operation. No obligation to testify undert oath and no teeth. Like the Ds and Rs in the USA, there is scant difference between the Cs and Ls in the UK. The US and UK two close-knit partners in imperialism. It is part of our Anglo-Saxon tradition.

When one's goal is the occupation and control of a country then any evidence will suffice. If there is none then evidence will be created.

This sordid detail would have been so outlandish before this tragic Iraq War fiasco (especially for the Iraqis) was launched by Dubya, Cheney, & Co., with their trusty poodle, Blair, in tow; not even Franz Kafka would have put it into one of his stories. If ghosts exist, Kafka's is probably cursing his ill luck at not having lived to give this sorry episode the literary treatment it deserved.

His grandfather might have had similar observations about a group of soldiers at the Texas-Mexico border, had he returned home.

Taxi driver drove more than a taxi, driving war by Britain while the driver was Iraqi and supposedly overheard passengers discussing ... bla bla bla? Propaganda of deceit once again.
