About That Doing Unto Others Thing...
Oh my Allah. Now right-wingers are up in vociferously-defended arms because Best Buy's vast and stuff-packed Thanksgiving flyer included a little-bitty ad wishing Muslims "Happy Eid al-Adha," a holiday that 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide mark by giving to charity. Dear hate-and-fear-filled, so-called Christian folks: It's the season of understanding, even among those of us who are not you. Try, please.
"It makes perfect business sense to acknowledge and celebrate a holiday that one out of four people celebrate." - Ahmed Rehab, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Show AllMuch too right drinking of Bushist Coup Laida!
It ain't poisonal. It's just bizness!
Oh, gee, the widdle chwistht-tard buwwieth are offended. Their widdle pantieth in a twitht. Not everweone buyth their tacked-up thchithotype thkyfairy! What can we be thinking?
Word of advice from a former editorial assistant here - if you're going to adopt a "funny" speech pattern or dialect, it might be a good idea to dial it back a notch so as not to render your post unreadable.
No one should be shopping Thanksgiving day or the day after anyway.
Isn't there a single day where everyone one (except emergency workers) can take off work?
No! The capitalists might miss a nickel's worth or profit.
Only on Christmas Day for a few people for a few hours -- sometimes as much as a whole day for some. Not much, though.
Hmm. Does this fall under the War On Christmas? How is that going, by the way? Was Christmas defeated?
Our intelligence services are reporting it is planning to launch a counterattack in about a month.
The media, Hollywood, TV, our entire political apparatus has demonized Arabs for the last 20 years and counting. One shouldn't be surprised that some people are fooled by that BS.
This attitude of getting incensed that people of another religion that's the favorite boogie-man of US "christians" or for that matter - western civilization "christianity" -
actually fits what Jesus Christ himself inveigled against, saying something:
"WOE UNTO YOU - o HYPOCRITES - for YOU is reserved the worst of Hell...and there shall be gnashing of teeth"....
he was speaking then to those of his fellow jews and the established order....
since Christians "adopted" him as their "lord and savior"
he might as well be speaking of HYPOCRISY to the "established order" that holds HIS name in VAIN with their hatred for anything "unchristian and UNAMERICAN".
these people actually conflate "america" with "christian" and yet behave - as Mahatma Gandhi said OF americans :
"so UN-Christlike".
they so easily forget that golden rule that covers much else:
that when you treat others , despite your differences, with kindness and respect and understanding...they are more likely to return the favor...
but if you demonize them even if they don't deserve being demonized -- they will potentialy behave towards you EXACTLY as you expected or imagined them to .
Don't you know that "Do Unto Others" stuff is out. What's in is "Do to others what you think they're planning on doing to you." Cheney Administration (2001-2004).
Well, a happy Eid al-Adha to us all, then, every one.
Yes, blessings of Eid al-Adha--but I do hope Muslims stop slaughtering animals en mass in commemoration of the sacrifice of prophet Abraham. Far better they give money instead. There's already enough cruelty to animals in this world.
We also slaughter animals en masse for every holiday - lamb, rabbit, turkey, goose, pig, fish, pigeon/dove. We also celebrate our religion by eating meat. It's a very ancient and UNIVERSAL tradition, going way back 1000's of years, to the time when cattle were sacrificed on religious holidays.
And then there's that "Lamb of G-d" thing, the Eucharist, which gets celebrated every Sunday.
And also Yom Kippur, but those animals don't get eaten, I think.
Consider also that the MSM show you these gruesome scenes of adorable livestock being dispatched in the most, what seems to us packaged-meat-patty-eaters gruesome ways, as part of a deliberate campaign to antagonize Westerners to Muslims. Remember how adorable it was that the Masai bled their cattle, mixing the curdled blood with their milk? How quaint, how romantic - no hate campaign there, as the Masai don't have oil.
Peace and blessings.
Let's not forget one thing. Best Buy's main goal is to sell cheap imported junk. The corporation doesn't really care about religion at all, they just know it's a pathway to many people's wallets.
Strange to relate (not), Christians and Moslems worship the same God.
In the Holy Qur'an, Jews, Christians and Muslims are all considered to be "People of the Book." Mohammed desired that all three live in peace.
Unfortunately, as with all of the major religions, "interpreters" of the Holy Books, whether Qur'an, Pentateuch, or Testament, always find a way to promote hate in place of love and greed in place of charity, then sit back and rake in the profits and power generated thereon.
If more priests, imams, rabbis, etc., would really read their holy books and practice what is preached there, we would have a world living in peace, and probably in prosperity.
it's actually a small pleasant surprise that Best Buy marketing people knew what the hell Eid al-Adha is.
