Chanting "People are dying every day!" and "Everyone in and noone out!", nine protesters were arrested and dragged out of the office of Joe Lieberman today. Part of a group of about 25 supporters of universal health care, they were asking Lieberman to sign a pledge he would no longer accept money from insurance companies. Arrest video here.

122 people dying every day from lack of health care but Joe could care less as he allowed these protestors to be arrested instead of signing the pledge not to take bribes from the health insurance industry. To allow these deaths is another example of the criminals in Congress that have sold out the American people. Joe is just one example of what Congress has become: corrupt Republican and Democratic attorneys who are taking bribes and beholden to what is euphemistically called lobbyists.
Considering all the bribes Joe gets from the military industrial media complex and other special interests, it would be difficult for him to sort out the insurance and pharma bribes.
What a radical idea . . . that a member of congress should not accept money from an industry. How insulting . . . to even think that the money would affect the honourable representative's judgement.
Thank you to the protestors. You are heros.
How terrible for Lieberman, that he is asked to represent average constituents instead of corporate donors.
What a burden democracy is for so many of our lawmakers.
Here's a prediction or two:
1) When and if Tea Baggers at the urging of Rep. Michelle Bachmann do the same thing as what happened in Lieberman's office, Fox Noise will scream "government thuggery!"
2) Expect Fox Noise to label this as "Socialists gone wild!"
Teabaggers packing assault weapons to rallys are just exercising their first and second amendment rights. The teabaggers are disciples of Glenn Beck and Obama responds to Glenn Beck more than he responds to the suckers that broke open their piggybanks to help his 2008 campaign.
The teabaggers are "exercising their second amendment rights." What you did not do was to inquire why it would be necessary to bring, of all things, a gun [or guns] to a health care rally. It would appear that the only reason those gun fanatics feel compelled to pack heat at a public demonstration is because of their macho need to intimidate people. Again, the only reason those people exhibit their guns is because they wish to bully and intimidate others who do not agree with their point of view as that is apparently the only way that they can win an argument. Simply another example in America where too much testosterone and emotion are on display in an effort to shut out intelligence, facts, reason and logic.
The tea baggers have something right: They are angry at being screwed. They just don't do enough research to find out WHO it really is that they should be angry at. They listen to Faux Noise (or as Sesame Street calls it, POX), and wonder why things never improve. And they keep hearing how it's all the terrible liberals fault. No wonder they hate us.
That being said, they are acting like the kid who won't leave his favorite toy at home when he goes to school. They have to show it to everyone, and make sure that everyone knows they have it. Most of us got over that by about age 7 or so, but these ones never did.
If they only realized that it's the very rich that they are protecting with their very protests, not themselves. If they only knew that it was the very greedy, the selfish, the ultra conservatives that have done this to them, we might be on to something.
But you see, most of them are older than I am (51), and see the MSM as the place that you can trust for news. They don't see that they have had the wool pulled directly over their eyes, and their futures stolen from them by the very people who are telling them TO be angry. I feel sorry for them, really. There is NO way to reach them to bring them over to the side of HUMANITY. They are so eaten up with the lies of MONEY that they will never see it for what it really is: A screwing unlike any previously seen by anyone at any time before in mankind's history.
Hmm. Come to think of it, there is all sorts of stuff they could legally carry to a protest: colouring books, track lighting kits, bags of compost, framed portraits of Elvis on crushed velvet, etc. Yeah, why the need for guns, legal or not? Your answer seems to me the most likely.
The other side of the coin is: The people's point of view will always trump the elites' point of view, and... intimidation is the only tactic the elites respond to. The fact that liberals tend to reject this side of the coin is a big part of why the people remain oppressed.
Lieberman's photo is the very picture of oily, unctuous, hypocritical corruption exposed. Let's bring that same look to the other bought-and-paid-for whores on Capitol Hill.
Lieberman and Cheney both are up for the ugly man reject award this year.

Joe is only partly right:Connecticut is also Electric Boat and Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.It's a very diverse place.
In CIVILIZED countries, politicians taking money from corporations in exchange for favours is called BRIBERY.
Actually, its called bribery in pretty much every country, civilized or not.

Joe Lieberman (D-CT) Is now and always will be known as "The Senator From Israel" because that's who he really represents in congress. Of course his funding comes from the insurance companies in Connecticut and so does his retirement when he chooses to do so. So he mainly works for the insurance companies.
I can't find the story right now, but I thought that there were also arrests of protesters at Pelosi's office. Our representatives of the people in action -- what a laugh.

What Dubya did with the connivance of the Congress to the Constitution after 9/11 enables precisely that.
There is a waiting period going on here, to see who objects to this betrayal.
There needs to be a convergence of the right and the left here, with nobody in between. The TINY STEPS that AG Eric Holder has taken on Guantanamo are indicative.
