What is the difference between a Demopublican and a Republocrat?
One gets their Health insurance Industry bribes in hundred dollar bills, the other in fifties.
$50 Million for abstinance...that is one dollar for each uninsured American that are involuntarily "abstaining" from health care.
How can a Democrat committee chairman that has received $3.2 million in "donations" (read:bribes) from the Health Insurance Industry be expected to provide health reform for the citizens?
All you did was vote for him...you want reform? Bidding starts at $4 million.

It's just a matter of time before Obama admits he actually admired Bush's domestic programs. We already know he gives two thumbs up on Bush's foreign policy.
I didn't buy it, but I could see how a shitload of folks did. They were desperate for someone who appeared to be the antithesis of Bush. They lost their heads. Too emotional. Got royally burned. Tragically for them, Obama has turned out to be one fantastic liar.
Only a flagrant narcissist could stand up in front of the nation that elected him and quite shamelessly turn on every domestic policy he promised during his campaign. It's something like I've never seen before in any US president.
He's the ultimate snake oil salesman. A racketeer, a turn coat, the con man of all con men.

The legislators won't vote for it, though, will they? Let's get it into a public referendum.
It's the republicans stupid.
I think people let the republicans off the hook too easily and we are too quickly to blame moderate democrats for sabatoging Obama's agenda. It's true, democrats do have a super majority but it shouldn't always take 60 democrats to pass a piece of legislation. Decent minded republicans should also step up and do what's right and not what's politically expedient. The fact that they are 100% against anything Obama wants to do forces the democratic party to become partisan hacks who must blindly follow Obama or face the wraith of progressives. Is that what we want? We would have a defacto dictatorship if we were to let that happen.
The democratic party is not supposed to be blindly obedient, all elected officals should be entitled to defend their own self-interests or personal beliefs, even if it isn't popular within their own party.
If we are to believe that the republican party has finally defected into the Twilight Zone, we should let them be burned by their own hands. After all, who wants to vote for a party that says no to everything? Regardless of what happens in the mid-terms, Obama will still be president. If this country doesn't address all of its ills by that time, why in the hell would any voter want to vote for more conservative obstruction? That would be completely insane.

"Decent minded Republicans" is an oxymoron. There's no such thing.
Oh, and the only super-majority in CONgress is the corporatist caucus. All those initials after their names are meaningless, except for Bernie Sanders ('I' = independent) and Joe Lieberman ('I' = Israel).
Voters will move to punish Democrats for their failures, which will result in gains for the Republicans. It may be insane but it's how the political system works in this Country.
The 'friend' who betrays you is worse than your enemy. We already know that the Republicans are a bunch of reactionary creeps. Democrats got elected in a landslide because they had an agenda that voters found more appealing than that of Republicans. That's quaint that they want to be independent-minded, but this is about getting something done. I expect my representatives to demonstrate competence. Many of these guys have held their offices for multiple terms. They have experience, a supermajority, and a president from their own party. What more could they possibly need? If they can't get it accomplished now, they are either completely inept or are being disingenuous regarding their beliefs. I think it's the latter. If it's the former, the saying, "Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity", rings truer than ever. Either way, they're bums.

Time after time, the corporations get what they want (carte blanche to rip off ordinary Americans), and we get satire. Year after year after year, on issue after issue. Honestly, I'd take a more boring life if it meant getting decent healthcare.
We should recall that NO ONE did satire like Soviet-Era Russians. But that doesn't mean I'd want to live their lives.
Just another log on the fire of evidence showing those we elect making a mockery of the legislative branch of government which I firmly believe is treason to this country as it proves they, dems or repubs, are NOT doing their job but spend their time fucking the people in the country for the corporations.
We certainly deserve what the people of this country have elected in the way of its senators and representatives.
