Western Civilization, Dabbed In Saturated Fat

Double-Down on this. KFC has come up with a new artery-defying, extra-crispy, gimme-everything-you got marvel of a sandwich featuring bacon, two kinds of cheese, and an elusive "Colonel's Sauce" all between two fried chicken patties masquerading as whole wheat bread or something else that won't kill you. Oddly, it doesn't appear on the website and is apparently being marketed only in Omaha, which KFC evidently doesn't like, as part of a "Rethink KFC" campaign that's ostensibly about eating healthy. Possibly hungry Whole Foods boycotters, beware. It beats out all the other Triple Everythings With Cheese and Salt, equalling the sins of three Big Macs put together.
From the Vancouver Sun: "This one menu item can be estimated to supply more than the daily recommended allowance in fat (124%), saturated fat (117%), cholesterol (105%), sodium (125%) and protein (194%), as well as 61% of your daily recommended calorie intake.

Show AllBoy, talk about a Toxic Waist! Did KFC or the GOP invent this deathburger?
I see nothing wrong with this. Let's not get all crazy about everything.
jdpst44 August 22nd, 2009 9:13 am..............You see nothing wrong with this? Would you allow your children or grandchildren to consume this poison?
No, I don't see this as edible food for children.
I would eat it though, probably once. And it would probably make me sick but I like fried foods. Can't eat them all them time but once in a while isn't that bad.
YOu should watch man vs. food.
God that's disgusting.
On the brighter side, KFC has been banned from advertising its "food" as "edible":

Pardon me while I barf.
Not sure why abby is so outraged. You can always not buy it and teach the kids it's not good. Like the other poster here i don't mind eating fried food and i would definetly try it at least once.
It's called personal responsability people. If you see something that does not mean you have to have it.
chameleon August 22nd, 2009 12:43 pm...............Then, would you be in favor of legalizing all drugs if it's simply a question of personal responsibility?
I would definitely legalize all drugs. It would take it out of the hands of criminals on the street. And it would cut down on the prison population. And it might bankrupt some mafias.
jdpst44 August 22nd, 2009 2:08 pm
....And would you make them available to children?
no, you have to be 18 like cigarettes.
But you and I know that kids can get drugs, and smokes, with it being legal or not.
jdpst44 August 22nd, 2009 2:38 pm......Good, let us make it illegal to feed this KFC crap to our children under 18, since it's very likey more poisonous than ganja.
That is a good point.
But you still have to make a distinction between fast food and drugs.
Fast food is somewhat addictive though. So I don't know. But I still eat at KFC once in a while.
jdpst44 August 22nd, 2009 3:34 pm..............They actually add chemicals that make it addictive...Pot is not addictive. Cigarettes are....nicotine. It's an insane, greed-crazed world. We allow them to poison our children with "unfood", yet we allow them to criminalize the most medicinal plant in existence. And how many deaths are caused by the abuse of alcohol?
But can they add things to weed to make it nutritious?
"The whole world is under the control of the evil one," including government, and a fake morality preached by government is what darkness is all about.
I agree with the other poster. Drugs should be legal. Gov can tax them, make some money. Over 18 like cigs.
On food tho there's another matter. What makes me uneasy is people wanting to ban food (i.e your post saying the new KFC concotion should not be available under 18.) I wasn't born american and lived thru government caused food rationing so that kinda thinking makes me wanna grab a flame thrower.
You should be able to eat whatever you want, or can afford. Humans, unlike other animals have free will and can choose to do something.wanna have KFC, Go ahead. wanna smoke go ahead. You were told it's bad for you but doesn't it feel good to be able to choose?
chameleon August 22nd, 2009 5:21 pm..........My remark about making KFC illegal to those under 18 was obviously facetious to make a point. Follow the thread. AND, I never agreed that drugs should be legal or illegal. I simply posed the question. Follow the thread.
There is another element here...KFC is one of the worst abusers of animals on the planet. Where they obtain their chicken from is one massive torture house responsible for suffering beyond measure of sentient, living things. Look into it.
The question we always have to ask with things like this is, "Why?". KFC doesn't "want" to kill it's customers, or make them obese really. Why are they producing a sandwich like this? Because everything used to create it is CHEAP due to the way it is mass produced, which in turn amounts to suffering of animals, and has a negative environmental impact.
There is a reason these foods are so cheap and therefor irresistible for fast food companies to overdose with on their offerings. It's because it's pure garbage, produced by unethical methods. Just do a search on slaughter house fecal matter lakes for a taste of that lovely food's impact on all of us, on our planet.
Eating these foods is supporting a destructive cultural chain larger than most people realize.
Processed food fattens us up for the slaughter and medical industry finishes the job on their operating table. So to know which industry desires to kill us the most, we would first need to know which one has invested money in the other the most.
So don't stuff yer face with it then. Personally i prefer to have the choice. Trust me when i tell you you don't the government regulating your food intake. Once that starts that's when you should be afraid. It's gonna to be too late then for a peaceful solution then though.
High fat diet about destroys ever internal organ in the body, and reduces the flow of oxygen to the brain such that it is unable to make correct moral decisions. "There god is their stomach and their destiny is destruction."
"--masquerading as whole wheat bread or something else that won't kill you -- Possibly hungry Whole Foods boycotters, beware."
Actually, Whole Foods has been running like heck from whole wheat anything over the past few years. Whole wheat has more Vitamin E which fights cancer and does other good things. Whole wheat causes the bread to not hit your bloodstream like white sugar.
So after careful consideration, Whole Foods slipped toward the money and diabetic addictive eating behavior route for dozens of products.
I get regular store-brand or brands like Arnold's whole wheat bread...really depending whichever one is at sale at whichever grocery store, my budget is very tight. I want to start buying whole wheat bread from the bakeries at the various farmer's markets around here, but $5 a loaf is pretty steep when I'm usually down to a dollar or two just before I get paid again.
Hi zmann
The kind of "whole wheat" you get at stores like Safeway is just barely whole. And yes, the real stuff is expensive, but have you considered baking your own? If you have the time, the ingredients are way less than store-bought bread. Go to a co-op or something similar and buy organic whole-wheat flour in bulk. (And check out other flours as well, you can mix them).
Well I just went to a farmer's market, had enough money left after buying my week's supply of apples, and went and bought one of the $5 loafs at the bakery's stall there...it should be good :-)
Wow. Are they *trying* to kill their customers? This tower of goo holds no appeal for me.

This is the food industry's obesity campaign.
95% OF ILNESS CAUSED BY HIGH FAT DIET
The average American eats a diet that is 50% fat, 40% protean and only 10% complex carbohydrates.
Now if government told people the truth, and we then taxed the process food industry, which would include the meat, dairy and egg industries, for all their damage done, both the processed food and medical industries would go bankrupt.
A capitalist government gives everyone the freedom to compete for excessive wealth, the absolute reverse of democracy. For democracy is equality, the freedom to have equal wealth.
"The average American eats a diet that is 50% fat, 40% protean and only 10% complex carbohydrates."
Unless you provide a reputable source for this, I am going to assume this is straight out wrong.
Bread, pasta, potatoes, french fries, doughnuts, muffins, pizza, pop drinks, even potato chips and nachos all are high in carbohydrates. Unless the average American avoids any consumption of all these foods, which is highly unlikely, there is no way that 90% of the average American's diet consists of fat and protein.
"95% OF ILNESS CAUSED BY HIGH FAT DIET"
No matter how many times the "dietary fat is bad" contingent repeats this myth, it is still a myth.
"Now if government told people the truth, and we then taxed the process food industry, which would include the meat, dairy and egg industries, for all their damage done, both the processed food and medical industries would go bankrupt."
The government has been claiming for DECADES that a (very) high carbohydrate is the one true way to health.
Chicken Cordon Bleu American style, yum yum! All it needs to make it a total travesty is to be drenched in that horrible KFG gravy. We tend to forget that classic European cusine was pretty heavy on the salt sugar fat triad also.
It is if, like me, you're of German descent. However, Italy and the Mediterranean area are noted for having low-fat, low-sugar diets. And the French, who love their butter and cream, also traditionally practice portion control. They savor their food and take meals slowly, as opposed to Americans who gulp ridiculously large portions down as fast as possible, sometimes barely stopping the car along the way.
this isn't the worst out there:

enjoy!
It's not a death burger just because it has fat.
ALL the ingredients are fake.....THAT'S the problem!
I got that fast food and grocery store food can be INJESTED.... but the question is, can it be DIGESTED?
Corporate Food sucks!
I think it's the end of the line for this experiment -hoping that high tech food can save the world.
The short cuts the corporations and big universities gave us create our ill health.
And we're all addicts.
Check out the documentary "FOOD INC."
From my point of view, KFC came up with a fantastically wonderful, nutritious, healthy meal! One of the best!
The recipe that is... the bad part is that the food itself is fake.
If it was raised in my back yard, chow it down.
The whole fat phobe society...... it simply is not true that eating fat causes fat.
It is simply not true that eating fat causes heart disease, etc.
Eat CHEAP fats that go rancid and have all kinds of bizarre formulations.... well, what do think is going to happen.
The Weston Price Foundation offers a unique perspective.
Eat lots of healthy fats, lots of greens, fish meat, fermented foods, and raw dairy. (tradtional foods of most societies)
Weston price, a traveliing dentist from the early 1900's, forecasted that a world that turned away from its tradtional foods, and turned towards a high carb and processed food diet, would become a world of DIABETICS!
pretty good prediction!
WE'RE ALL A BUNCH OF CARB ADDICTS!
Me included.
And I not having an easy time helping my family turn back the hands of time.
CHALLENGE: Go off carbs for one week.
Only have meat, fish, greens, fermented raw kim chi, and raw dairy.
(good luck even finding the things)
Then imagine if a whole society made the change.
What would it take to produce REAL food?
How much HEALTH would be gained by eating real food?
And will Mansanto ever let us have a choice?
Watch 'FOOD INC."
if you really want to make a change, the movie can provide the motivation needed to give up a lot of goodies (soda, candy, pretzel, potato chips, etc.)
It's a start.
"It is simply not true that eating fat causes heart disease, etc"
I'm sorry, but you are mistaken.
Actually kaika is pretty much right on, it's the high carb diet that's the primary problem, especially the highly refined carbs, like fructose corn syrup. More and more evidence is showing that addiction to refined sugars are far more damaging to health, including heart disease, than eating fat. But it's also important which fats are eaten, hydrogenated oils are poison, whereas olive oil and other(non rancid) oils are healthy.
I believe beef and pork fat are large parts of the problem, too. Beef, especially, since they have been breeding the pork pretty lean. Too bad that takes all the deliciousness out of it but what can ya' do?
This is still too simplistic.
Whether the beef and pork fat are a serious problem depends on how they were raised, what they were fed. Grass fed beef contains different types of fat than corn fed beef. Grass fed beef contains essential fats, the Omega 3 fats, and also CLA, a fat that has been linked with helping to control obesity and diabetes. Corn fed beef pretty much doesn't.
I'm sorry, but you anti-fat zealots are simply plainly put, deluded.
Some fats are actually ESSENTIAL. As in you will suffer all kinds of problems if you don't obtain them via diets. Those ESSENTIAL fats actually LOWER incidences of cardio vascular disease. The human body cannot function without fats.
Not to mention the vitamins that are fat-soluble...they can only be absorbed by the body when accompanied by fat. Fat free salad dressing is a no-no.
I never said we don't need fat. On average, we need two tablespoons per day. (And that's not considering whether we're talking saturated fats.) I believe most people get more than two tablespoons of fat buttering their organic bran muffin in the morning. But you go ahead and chow down on pork rinds and cow blubber. To each his own.

Read Michael Pollan ("The Omnivore's Dilemma" and "In Defense of Food"). He shows how reducing food to carbohydrates, fats and proteins is food industry's way of looking at it, because it enables them to create basically artificial food from just a few ingredients. The rest is done by the PR machinery which makes citizens believe they buy real food.
PROCESSED FOOD -- LABLING PURE DECEIT
Food is made of fat, protean and carbohydrates, and if people had the truth staring at them as they looked at the package, about half the stuff would not be sold.
The average American diet is 50% fat, 40% protean and 10% complex carbohydrates. Far from the ideal of nothing processed by man or animal which is: 10% fat, 10% protean and 80% complex carbohydrates.
Problem is, most processed food, including meat, diary products and eggs, is not required to be labeled. And those that do have a label only give you "% Daily Value," something only a few understand and only if they have a calculator handy.
Only safe way to go: EAT NOTHING PROCESSED BY MAN OR ANIMAL
"The average American diet is 50% fat, 40% protean and 10% complex carbohydrates. Far from the ideal of nothing processed by man or animal which is: 10% fat, 10% protean and 80% complex carbohydrates."
Wrong. On both counts.
The average American diet is not 90% fat and protein.
Two, the claim that the human diet should be 80 carbohydrate is really without empirical evidence to back it up. That is the diet that the US government used to advocate for a long time. The diet that the medical "experts" used to advocate. Look at how successful it has been combating obesity, adult onset diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
I'm not sure exactly sure what the exact FPC breakdown of the US diet is, but it is definitely too much of everything and not enough of critical micro-nutrients and phytochemicals.
KFC's latest offering can't be more extreme than the Hardees "Monster Thick Burger" that weighs in at an incredible 1400 calories. Well, what ever the market will bear in the end. I'm not lining up for any of this horror show myself.
As Steve Martin used to joke back in the day-
"It's YOUR Funeral!!!"
With Hot dog eating contests they have even turned Gluttony into a spectator sport.
Perhaps they will sell televsion rights for a reality show to see how many of these can be scrafed down at a sitting.
perhaps a typo, or dyslexia, is to blame...to clarify:
getting 'fat' is not the same as getting 'fit'...
