Banning Dreams and Hope
Under FBI guidance, federal officials at the Florence, Colo. supermax prison have rejected an inmate's request to read two books by President Obama, citing material "potentially detrimental to national security." Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, a U.S. citizen serving a 30-year sentence for joining al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate then-president Bush, asked for "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope."

Show AllMight I suggest:
"Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became an Extraordinary Leader" by Dinesh D'Souza
and
"My Turn: The Memoirs of Nancy Reagan" by Nancy Reagan
These should make it past our unbiased taxpayer-funded censors. I believe they are required reading at the Air Force Academy, also in Colorado (LOL).
Man, don't! Dinesh da Souza can seriously screw up your brain. The guy's a halfwit. Although after 7 years of torture, maybe the poor sods can't get any worse.

After those two books, I guarantee these former Muslim terrorists will be ready to join our fighting forces at the Air Force Academy, for the difficult work of subduing deviant and communist thought in yet another forlorn country.... this time America.
ROFL
Although I wonder if "these former Muslim terrorists" are stupid enough to buy into it. Once burned by crackpot religion, twice shy, as they might say.

One of those antediluvian management books (might have been "Up the Organization" or "The Peter Principle") made the point that in a bureaucracy, most of the people have the power to say "no," while very few have the power to say "yes."
Since nobody likes to admit they're not powerful, "no" gets said a lot. And virtually nobody is ever fired for an excess of caution---more often than not, they're given a medal, a bonus or a promotion instead.
That would seem to be the case here.
...
So now reading the 'inspirational' Obama PR books is now a 'terrorist' act?
How 'Big Brother' can you guys get?
Walk in peace.
I beg to differ. I think reading Obama's books actually has been proven to be dangerous to national security. Raading those books got the majority of the nation to believe his lies and elect him to office so that now he can continue the illegal wars that are endangering our national security. Left meets right here.
as opposed to the lies of the neocons that mccain and the lightweight palin supported?
No, as opposed to Nader and McKinney.
The guy should read Nichelle Nichols' autobiography "Beyond Uhura" instead. I'm almost positive he'll derive more inspiration, hope and entertainment reading that. I know I did!

When it comes to law enforcement at any level in the US today, common sense just no longer exists. It's pretty frightening-- like the NM sheriff who tasered that 14-year old girl, charged with nothing, and left a laceration in her scalp long enough to require metal staples to repair it? (Beware of Tucumcari, NM).
