Show Allimagine if all the people in the U.S. who disagree with such behavior, simply left and expatriated to countries which are militantly opposed to the oligarchy, e.g., Cuba or Venezuela. i'd like to hear some comments on this idea.
You can run, but you cannot hide. Any country that dissagrees with the Global Corporate Policys is in the cross-hairs of covert operations by many Gvmt and Non-Gvmt Orgs from many different countrys.
Migth is right - or at least rules. That's the moral - if any - in the story of Diego Garcia.
This story of Diego Garcia is similar to the story of many of the 'lily-pad' military bases of the currently ca. 750 US military bases around the world.
Whenever authority is challenged in the west or most of the world, there's ultimately some 10,000 US atomic bombs ready to support the ones in authority. That's the reality of the political discourse in the west.
Can this military force be overcome? - Sure it can, with ingenuity and smarts. It takes persistence over time, though.
This is just sick. Not surprising in the least bit. But, sobering. The sad part about this whole mess is, many anti-American countries do not have the best track record for Human Rights (woman's rights, LGBT rights, etc.) so, they have trouble garnering support from Progressive voices. America is a weak nation. We rely heavily on threats (much like a bully) to affirm our place in the world. I am not proud at all that I have to say "We" as I am myself, regrettably, American.
...the same treatment the Palestineans recieved in 1948....
