Citizens Badge of Shame Awards
NEW YORK, NY -- December 8 -- Join Code Pink New York, the Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition, and Physicians for Social Responsibility on Friday December 10th for the first annua Citizens Badge of SHame Awards. lEntergy Corporation, a Louisiana-based utility company that owns and operates the Indian Point nuclear power facility in Buchanan, New York (24 miles north of NYC), is nominated for Badge of Shame Awards in the following categories: Nuclear Mismanagement, Community Destruction, Price-Gouging and Corporate Influence Peddling.

The awards ceremony will be held on the sidewalk outside of the Plaza Hotel while the Platts Global Energy Awards gala celebration—a $450-a-seat banquet—is being held inside. Entergy is nominated for Platts Awards in the categories of Energy Company of the Year, Power Company of the Year, Community Development Program of the Year, and CEO of the Year.

The Billionaires for Bush are expected to defend Entergy's honor, and disrupt our event, but we plan to trick them into receiving our Citizens Badge of Shame Awards.
