WASHINGTON - February 3 - Pride At Work, the union movement's organization for LGBT working people, announced today that labor and LGBT activist Henry Moses III has been selected to succeed Marta Ames as its executive director beginning February 16. Moses has been involved in the union movement for years. He served as a front-line researcher for the AFL-CIO's Food and Allied Service Trades Department and research director for Hotel and Restaurant Employees Local 25 in Washington. He has also been active in Pride At Work and is a former co-president of its Baltimore-Washington chapter. He is currently a research analyst at TransAfrica Forum. "We're delighted to be working with Henry to expand Pride At Work, build on the solid foundation that Marta put in place, and fight for a better life for LGBT working people," said Pride At Work co-presidents Josh Cazares and Nancy Wohlforth. "Henry has the background, the skills, and the values to take Pride At Work to the next level." Pride At Work is the newest constituency group in the AFL-CIO. It has 14 chapters across the country. ### | |
